Bucket hook weld on points

I welded grab hooks and shackle mounts in addition to a receiver mount to the bucket. With the receiver mount I have many choices with the center of the bucket. It makes moving things around much easier. With the large hook moving three point equipment is easy. I like the shackles for attaching ropes and straps plus the mounts give you a place to bolt something on if needed.

Very nice job Like how you made the triangle mounts. As to another poster I have found that with my mid size tractor 3/8 chain is overkill. I have it but never use it. 5/16 and also the ability to grab the 1/4 chain is great when your holding something in bucket. For me with a 5 foot bucket 3/8 chain is just to much.
Also likke to add. that I like to use the clevis grabs and grind to suit.with the pin out of the clevis.(leaves me with a usable pin for elsewhere) when I load ,say a washer machine or fiurniture. the grove where the clevis pin would go adds a good spot to slip rope onto.

I did not make the little triangle mounts. The bucket comes that way from the factory. I assume they are there to weld hooks onto.

I thought I had a picture of how I had our loader buckets setup but evidently not, I do have a picture of how I set my skid steer bale movers up and it's almost the same as our loader buckets. Like the others are suggesting I weld a 3/8" grab hook in front of each loader arm but then in the middle of the bucket I weld in a big D ring under the top lip. The D ring makes a very nice place to run a chain when when hauling on a trailer.

I used to think the slip hook in the middle of the bucket was a good idea but I found that tree branches got stuck in them way too often when pushing brush, it can still happen with the grab hooks but not nearly as often.

Can never have too many options. I have some recovery straps so the tow hook comes in handy.

That is the configuration I welded up. The only change I would potentially would make is welding on a receiver tube, but I am not sure where I would weld it. The top of the bucket seems too high. For now, the receiver hitch goes on the 3pt.

Here is where my four hooks are welding on my stock 72" general purpose bucket.

Enough rattles without a receiver up there. Though I have one on my truck so maybe one on the tractor would make moving trailers around easier. Now I just drop the bucket down and put the hook in trailer ball socket.

I put these on 6 years ago, they really come in handy. WP_20140426_003.jpgtractor%202.jpg

I placed them just inside the welded channel for balance and stability...

Can anyone point me to a prior discussion on mounting a 2" receiver on the bucket of a FEL?
