Haven't done the hooks on my 2660 yet but planning to do so. Has anyone deformed their loader bucket or heard of it being done. I'm thinking of putting a pair of both chain hooks and the more open slip hooks on a piece of 1/4" plate that would span the width of the bucket and welding the plate onto the top of the bucket...or am I overthinking this thing

I was concerned about the same thing... bending in middle... when we put hooks on our FEL buckets, so we only put them at the sides. Been using them for 7 or 8 years now with no problems. Any time we need a center pull, we just loop a chain between the side hooks.

With hooks at the side arm attachment points you need to pick an object using both side hooks or you take a real chance of tweking the FEL arms and fram!:D

Attending farm auctions for more years than I care to remember, on rare occasion would I see a tractor with some age that the loader arm assembly had not been racked from lifting too much weight with a hook located towards the bucket end.

Those buckets were made for loading but if you must lift weld a gusset inside the bucket center and a centered hook. One other thing that causes racking is lifting with the tractor out of position i.e. keep the tractor level side to side.

No bent buckets, no welding. no interference with future attachments.
