Bucket Selection Issues

John,
I've never moved hay bales. I take it from your comment that forks would not function well as bale spears, either?

John, the bales I would be moving would not be the large round bales, but the three wire rectangle ones - estimate about 120 lbs each. One use for pallet forks would be to lift small boulders onto a trailer or pickup to bring in for landscaping around the house, (not sure a bucket would work as well - except maybe the HD round back buckets). Will also be moving material around, and thought about a platform on pallet forks to trim trees. As for moving material around, I used to be able to pick up rr ties and walk away with them - no more.
