Thanks for going easy on me....:D

From your replies i am considering the fact of upgrading the tilt cylinders on the FEL and using the original ones on my dumping trailer i am building.

Found some online calculators and both force and dimensions should fit.
That way i would have 2 outboard cylinders for dumping.

I will post a picture of how i want to mount the cylinders in the trailer topic.

Would appreciate hearing your opinions.

I recently installed larger tilt cylinders (oringinals were 1 3/4", replaced them with 2" cylinders).
That fixed it, Big differance in power, now I can roll back more than I can lift. My loader needed and should have had 2" tilt cylinders on it from the factory in my opinion.

Do you think it was designed that way to prevent the main lift unit having damage?

Maybe..
But what good is a loader if you can lift something but can't roll the bucket back?

Yea I agree. It should be able to roll back equivalent to what it can lift. I would just be worried that I tried to roll back more than I could lift. Kind of a Catch 22.

Another point of view is of course that when using pallet forks or other extensions the tilt power reduces dramatically.

I tried and if i put 200kg on the edge of my pallet forks (80cm from edge of bucket) i can not tilt the bucket anymore.

While the FEL lifts 500kg easily.

I do load quite some voluminous (spelling?) things as split wood and hay using the pallet forks. Mostly i run out of tilt power with 300kg of hay spread over bucket and pallet.

Safety wise i dont really see an issue, if you tilt too heavy weight in the bucket you will not lift it due to not enough hydraulic power so tipping the tractor when lifting it high up cannot be an issue. (tractor goes frontwheel mode anyway with 300kg and no counterweight)

just my thoughts
