Wow, that's been a while. Glad you are making a comeback. Gonna have to reread it all, as I slept since reading it.

These pictures are of us putting in the water cistern and septic tank, there are two different times, when we put the cistern in and back filled the trench we thought all was good but the connection where the pump pipe came out of the tank was leaking and we got ground water in the tank so we had to dig it up and replace the connection as the one that came wit h the tank was defective. 20161001_113542.jpg20161001_123801.jpg20161001_123819.jpg

I'm not familiar with what a water cistern is? I understand that it holds water, but why are you holding water? Where does the water come from that goes into the tank? Is this for drinking water? How does it go from the cistern into the house?

Yes the cistern is a fiberglass vessel designed to hold water . Since there is no public water available we have to haul drinking water from the nearest town with a tank that fits in our truck. there is a water line connection in the center of the tank that goes to the bottom of the tank. The line is buried to the cabin where the water is pumped and pressured by a piston pump to supply the cabin. We have this tank buried below the frost line so winter does not affect it however when we are gone for the winter we must drain everything in the cabin so it does not freeze. I hope this answers your question

Some pictures of us doing the floor, We used milled 2x6 rough boards we cut with our mill for the floor and it was our intention to use that for the floor, but the boards shrunk and left big gaps, so we put 2 inch styrofoam sheets down first and then put 5/8 tongue and groove plywood for the floor. we will put vinyl plank flooring on top of this when we can afford it.051.JPG052.JPG054.JPG057.JPG058.JPG I forgot to mention that now I have as of 2021 four grand kids to help me along, this was the second one at the time this picture was taken.
