Visit the Local Hardware Store and pick up bunch of carpet tack strips. Put them in the areas around openings that you think they are using for entry. When you install them, make sure the nails on the strips are pointing to the inside of the barn. When they reach in to grab a place to pull themselves in """"""""OOOOOHHHHHHHHH @$#%^&%$""""""" will be the first words out of their mouth.

Another idea: Loop some fishing line around different post's, door frames with a can of paint or bleach connected to the other end, that way they will be "Tagged".

And last, mark some of your items with paint, contact the local scrap dealer and tell him to be aware of any "Scrap" with (________ colored paint).
And tell the scrap dealer that you have notified the local Law of your color on "items" that may be destined for his business.

I have fought the scum and won. I am not looking for a fight but for sure I do have the right to protect myself. The police and insurance will tell you to roll over and play dead. I have been there. I break no laws and I am responsible for all the actions that I take. I see that no children or innocents are in harms way. This seems like a lot of trouble. But after being robbed twice and the insurance and police telling me I needed to "Learn to live with it" this was just a bit more than this ole' country boy could stand.

Leave a note near the last of the copper saying that " if you are here, I already have your picture and if you leave without doing any further damage, you wont have reason to turn the pictures over to the authorities. Drawback might be that they tear the place apart looking for a camera.

If they are stealing copper sounds like the low-lifes are doing it for quick drug money. Also lots of times theives believe it or not are someone(s) you know and knows your schedules or routines.Just my honest opinion from experience.

Retaliation is what I fear most. Suppresion is one thing. Coverage for total loss needs to be assured first....then the games begin. If I screw with tack strips( I've actually considered razor blades just not shure how to sucure them) Psssp. I've already had a homeade tack strip laid down under the door with rusty nails sticking up but they just rammed the door forward and stepped over it. I might try the strategy again knowing thats the last access without destruction to what I have built.

Thanks for the break Bullbreaker. My sis has been sucked into the drug crap and I hope its not her or her ilk. I worry it is. Beyond pulling a "Black Snake Moan" on her she is lost but I hope the hot bullet headed toward a break in isn't her's. These things must be considered. Grumble! She is one of the few knowing the location of my business. A sleeping bag and my 45 are coming to be my next vacation getaway....go figure.

Ok here's a cheap easy alarm can't send pictures from the phone sorry... Buy a clothes pin with the spring, put a small screw on each side of the spring/clamped end with a wire to each one, run the wire to a cheap car alarm siren and a 12v battery, .... Now take a piece of small plastis or non conductive material and put a small hole in it, hook some fishing line/ trip line and connect to wherever you like now slide the other end with the plastic in between the 2 screws on the clothes pin now when they trip the fishing line and pull it out it will sound the alarm!!!! Works! And cheap

File theft report(s) with local law inforcemant agency(s) in case of a confrontation at site of criminal activity it would look even better on your behalf in court or the morge.
Around here game wardens handle that kind of stuff in remote and rural areas.Where deputys can't get to in their 2wd vehicles.
