Here is another pic of the same daewoo. I believe this is the best I've seen. Couldn't bury her much more than that.

Re: We want pictures!-trac hoe Stuck

Pretty cool, at leat to look at. Hate to be the owner. Any damage? How do you get something like that out? Quite a bit of suction from the mud? Just guessing but digging a huge whole around it till it comes out.

Re: We want pictures!-trac hoe Stuck

Derek your on it!!! Whats the best way to get a trac hoe out another trac hoe and what happens when the second trac hoe gets buried a third trac hoe. But yes your right got to break the suction of the mud. With some TnT in Birds case or in this case another trac hoe.

This pic shows two of the three trac hoes---STUCK

I do not know how to run an excavator. Do these operators know what they are doing or are the conditions that bad?

Re: We want pictures!-TWO-trac hoe Stuck

Here is a picture of the third trac hoe pulling out the second. They sould have never put the first trac hoe on that ground. Once the first one was stuck they had no choice but to put a second one out there to dig it out. Then buried that one.
Every piece of equipment has it's limits---That is something I've yet to learn it seems.

I think they will have to wait for a hard freeze or a long dry spell!

Re: We want pictures!-TWO-trac hoe Stuck

Gordon,

Have you been saving photos of stuck equipment for a while? This wouldn't be a new hobby that you started after the phrase "doing a Gordon" was coined, would it? Could this be the start of a support group? Sorry, a bit of fun at your expense, my friend./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: We want pictures!-TWO-trac hoe Stuck

Actually Mark you are correct when I asked if anyone else had buried their tractors and got no takers, I went looking for buried tractors. Lets me know I'm not the only knucklehead around!!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
The main thing about bottoming out the tractor is being able to get it out! So lets hope I don't do a Gordon for awhile. Just did one last week that is why I revisited this thread.

Skidder falling in ice

Last night I was driving home and saw that there were alot of cars, a crane, and other equipment at the neighbors. I stopped to see if there was something I could do and they said no Jack was out scraping the snow off his pond and his skidder fell through! The guy got out ok but his skidder was at the bottom of the pond. They had a diver there that was trying to hook a cable from the crane to pull it out. They finally got it out. Really wish I had had a camera to take some pics for you guys. I'm sure someone did though and I will try and get some.

Harv- lets not wright off the dynamite, its a lot of fun/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
12 yrs. ago when we built our home I had to get rid of about 120 stumps, thought the TNT sounded like fun, so off to the state police post to get a permit to go buy some.[ by the way the permit cost $1.00]. Go to the local gravle pit to get my supplys and home to play demo Dick. Well to make a long story short TNT is slow and cost to many $$$$$ to remove stumps, it did a good job of shreading them and throwing rocks all over though, and made a VERY BIG BOOM. Back to the pit and had guy come over with a TD7 and in 4 hours I had 120 stumps in a nice row. I have to tell the truth though it was fun making the ground shake.

Re: We want pictures!-TWO-trac hoe Stuck

Gordon sounds like you have been having fun. I was on ice in a very shallow pond and just broke through to frozen mud, but it,s maybe just a touch colder here. I tryed to look at all the photos that you had posted but I could'nt get even one of them to load??? I will try them on sat. maybe, they sound like some dooosie's. Hey I went to MICH. Timber and saw that pack rat, or was it rat pack?? that the guy made any way it sure did'nt look like it would skid much wood!

Re: We want pictures!-Bobcat+loader Stuck

Rich,

You probably were not the first guy to figure out TNT does a lousy job on stumps, much to fast and not enough uummfff, way to expensive.

In the bad old days one stick and the magic mix would put a stump airborne. I'm a little reluctant to explore the magic mix further but I'm sure most can guess.

Re: We want pictures!-Bobcat+loader Stuck

T T- yea I had some farmers tell me about blowing holes for ponds and using their special mix! Make a hole 30 sec. that it would take you a day or 2 to dig!

Re: We want pictures!-Bobcat+loader Stuck

Rich -

Now that I'm in my fifties (almost half of my expected lifetime /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif), there's a few things I used to think about doing that I have pretty much changed my mind about. One of them is jumping out of a plane, and another is playing with dynamite. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I guess it took the first 50 years for me to realize that I'm not actually indestructable, and that everybody makes mistakes once in a while. When I do make my mistakes now, I want both feet firmly on the ground or better yet, safely tucked in bed.

Wait!!! -- I didn't mean ... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Oh, well. I think you get the idea. I'll just stick to watching my software blow up in my face./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Well the photos are loading now, thanks to the boss! Gordon those are some shots, I can under stand how they could have let them get in such bad shape??? I have driven out on to some soft areas before and just stared to sink but jamed it into reverse and got out now! And than to stick another one, now thats a bad day for sure.
