Buried the tractor

Chains may help if you're working land that is always wet and having chain marks
won't matter.

Just a suggestion.

Well Glenn guess right about now your nice and muddy, probably cussing up a storm. Just remember that there a few ways to get that rascal out. It only takes a few inches but it may as well be a few miles.

I can releate about the R-4 tires thats what I got on the 4310 they came with them. They are useless in the mud but remember to ease her with the R-4 tires and you can also brake steer if need be by cross footing it. One foot on the hydro pedal one foot on the brake. Or one foot on the diff lock and one foot on the brake in cruise control mode.

Remember you can also manually clean the rear treads of your tires. How do you do this? well it's easy just get a stick and scrape out the major goop if the tires clog up with muck. Yes not fun but it helped to get me unstuck a couple of times.

Now to the record of getting stuck you have tied it but not broken it./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

But for towtruck charges you have beat any record and then some. Are you keeping track of the charges and one thing can they be taken off your taxes?/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

All I can say is good luck I been in those shoes before and they don't fit very well at all. Please let us know the outcome. I almost forgot fill me in on the bridge construction!!!!!

Not dark yet so I think I'll go and get the tractor muddy

OK, I claim the tow truck record. 4 buries, 4 tow trucks. This could be a record never to be broken, like DiMaggio's 56 games or Wilt's 100 pts.

My son and I worked for two hours today but failed. Shovels, planks, logs, sand, car ramps--nothing worked except to create a larger and deeper mess. Had to call the same outfit as yesterday. "You again," they said. It was embarrassing.

So far, $360 to get pulled out 4 times. Obviously at this rate, it would be far more cost efficient for me to buy a winch, a big truck, and a 3710 with Goodyear DT810 radial R1W tires on the front and back, a Bradco backhoe, factory T&T....... I mean the justification seems overwhelming.

Glenn,
Sounds like the tow truck folks don't need your business if they're going to be rude like that. There's nothing like embarassing yourself then having someone you're paying money to act like you're doing them a favor. That's just this one oufit, not some East Coast way of doing things is it? I hope you don't have to put up with that routinely.

Grant, no, they werent being rude. They were surprised or shocked. Pulling tractors out of mud is not something a tow service around here does very often. So, when I called them twice in a row, they just blurted something like that out in surprise.

Glenn,
My mistake. In that case you could save up and have a Chinook on retainer to airlift you out whenever you need it. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
