The Sharps Big Fifty replica should be available?
Would you use a Sherman for the burn barrel??
Their old automotive sections (engines, drivelines and tracks) have been used for almost everything else.

So, Paul, you're using a 'vortex' or 'cyclone' type.
I'm leaning towards this type of design as, for my purposes, the barrel will be used only for tree limb/twig disposal. Perhaps some leaves.
I learnt a new (to me) term in my research; Hardware Cloth. Which I would've simply referred to as a metal 'mesh'. Anyway, it's constantly recommended as a spark-arresting top/lid.
It's called a burn incinerator, made of stainless steel and lasts forever pretty much.
Guarantees not to warp. Comes with a lid and burns so hot it is smokeless after getting to temperature which only takes ten minutes.
Bought mine 2 years ago and can't be happier.
Totally slotted top to bottom for max airflow.
Burn Barrel - Hottest,long-lasting,Warp Resistant Mini Incinerator
Not if you reload like I do.Yeah but 44 Mag ammo is way more expensive.
Cost is north of $400. 55 gal drum at Rural King, $20. I can replace the 55 gal drum a large number of times for $400.
AND,,, anyone that has owned a propane grill knows that stainless steel "rusts" almost like regular steel when exposed to a flame.
The stainless burner in a gas grill is the first thing to go,, by rusting.
I would hardly expect double the life out of a stainless barrel that is used outside, exposed to the elements.
There are various types and grades of 'stainless'. Cheaper materials undoubtably used for inexpensive grills.AND,,, anyone that has owned a propane grill knows that stainless steel "rusts" almost like regular steel when exposed to a flame.
