I have an old Bush Hog 16/18' disk. It's wing fold. It had a bearing go out on one of the wings but I've been unable to find a replacement bearing. Appears Bush Hog no longer supports parts for these disks. In my opinion, that gives the company a bad name having a product out there that they won't support parts on. Makes me wonder if their rotary mowers will one day be deemed un-important and as such, no longer supported parts wise.

Regardless, has anyone else had this trouble finding disk bearings? I'm looking for any possible resources to obtain a bearing for this disk...short of having to re-modify the whole wing setup to use another bearing which I'm not a fan of....

Thanks
Joey

Quite a few major brands that once marketed tillage tools have got out of the business. Bush Hog is only one of many. I for one sure wouldn't concern myself with their abandoning the rotary cutter market.

Every disc I've ever had my hands on that had roller bearings used "generic" over-the-counter bearings, albeit their "house brand" part #'s. You should be able to take a bearing to any reputable bearing shop and match them up.

Email me a pic of the bearing with inside and outside and width dimensions and will try to find you 1. Ken Sweet

Thanks for your reply's. I'll measure what's left of the bearing this weekend when I'm around the disk... About all that's left is the inner ring and outer ring :)

If you need to remove the gang to repair the disc, you may be able to get info from a good bearing? Ken Sweet

BushHog hasn't had disc harrows since about 1987---24 years! At some point a company can't justify carrying parts inventory for what they hope will be a sale. If a "few" pieces of the part are made, the cost making a "few" of an item will be so high that a customer can't afford it.
