GATC35 said:I have a 8 ft dual spindle Kodiak and am very pleased with it. When I first got it I had problems with it leaving a strip in the middle. I sharped the blades and dropped the rear of the cutter. No problems since. This cutter seems to cut better in an almost level position, front end only half an inch lower than the rear. At first mine came from the dealer with the tail wheels all the way down, back of cutter all the way up. It cut horrible.
Try adjusting it so it's almost level and see what happens.

As the other poster pointed out.. King Kutter and Kodiak are not the same, and there is a percieved quality difference between the two.

We got the rotter cutter working good.
We changed the gears from 1.22 to 1. 47 on the main gear box.
so thats is equal to 1.93 speed up on a 540 rpm pto.
We also found that the drag chains on the front where in a loop
Instead hanging seperatly.
Causing the grass and weeds to be pushed down
So the blades could not get to them easly.
We took the chains off.
Also leveled it up and drive slow.
The cut looks almost as good as some lawn mowers.
