You seem very knowledgeable about equipment. I'm just curious but what size is your JD and your Massey. Also you say you have a New Holland, what size is it if you don't mind me asking.

The Massey Ferguson is a 1971 150. 37 pto HP from the factory, turned up to where it dynos 44 HP on the PTO 2975 hrs. Owned it since new. 2nd tractor I bought. And without a doubt, my personal favorite!

Ford 3000 diesel. 1974 model. It replaced the 1st tractor I bought. a 1971 3000 gasser that just flat wore out. I bought it this spring. Still working on fitting an old Kelly loader I had on the gasser.

John Deere 2440, 1979. Bought it new in late '79 to replace a Ford 5000 I bought in 1974. (I tried to turbocharge the 5000 and trashed it in 2 years) The 2440 is 60 pto hp, and the loudest tractor I've ever been around.

I have in my barn, a 1957 MF 50 that was my dads. It's a restoration project in the works. My son will end up with it when it's done.

I've also owned a Deere 4240, 110 hp, MFWD, 1981 model. Sold it about 10 years back. (Miss the cab) At the time I was farming my 90 acres and renting 40 more. Thought I needed a bigger tractor. Sort of overkill for 130 acres.

Sold the farm to my son last fall. Only have 45 acres of my own now. Also take care of 112 acres that's in a family trust. Mostly woods.

You bet!!!

Needed a big brother for my 21-hp Kubota B7510HST/LA302 FEL to handle tillage chores.

So, after about 3 months looking, I made a deal ($3600) on a 43-hp MF-135 diesel with power steering and multipower.

It's an orchard tractor with filled tires.

No engine leaks. Seepage at the rear PTO shaft seal.
Needs new gauges, seat, sheet metal work, power washing and paint. I'm really looking forward to fixing up this honey in the next few months.

Has 4657 hours (tach and hour meter working, but tach not zeroing properly). Engine rebuilt around 3500 hours.

S/N plate is missing but "Farmwithjunk" was able to track it down using the casting numbers to late 1966-early 1967 manufacture. Thanks again.

Feel real fortunate getting the 135 so quickly. There're quite a few around here in the North Valley, but they don't come on the market too often. Dave of "DavesTractor" gave me the lead on this one. Many thanks.

No dealers in my area that I am aware of, or I certainly would have liked to check out the Massey Ferguson machines when I was shopping for a tractor..

Roger that. Wish I could've shopped Massey, but no dealers anywhere near my farm.

I have looked at a MF GC2310TLB that I really would liketo own. Met the dealer at our county fair. Seemed like a good guy, price seemed fair. His dealership is about 60 miles from me (OK basically all dealers are in the 45 to 75 mile range from me), so I haven't been able to drive one yet. Of course I still have to convince my CFO I really, really need one!

Why did I buy a 2310? (Still waiting to take delivery, as our new house isn't finished yet, so I can't say anything about using it. Rats....)
Have you taken delivery of the machine yet. I am very interested in comments, compliants, etc., from actual owners of the GC2310TLB!:D

Sorry Iowachild, not yet. Progress on our house has ground to a slow creak. I don't want to take possession until I have possession of the house. I could already store the tractor in the garage, but still a lot of tradesmen around, so don't want to give them too much temptation :)

I've gone on accompanied visits though :) Dealer has no problem with storing it for me for so long. One good thing is that when I do take delivery, I'll be one third done paying for it! Thank you MF for zero percent financing.

Right now I'm narrowing my choices on a trailer for utilty and tractor hauling use. I'll post my experiences as soon as I get some seat time. Hopefully soon!

Hi, Iowachild. I've owned a GC2310TLB for about a week. My wife used it on a culvert, she said the backhoe is good at getting out boulders, stumps. She has had a little trouble moving seat around for different positions. I am carefull to not run over anything, because hydraulic filter is venerable to damage where it is located. My neighbor has a GC2300, and he let someone borrow it,they ran over something and tore off filter and bent frame. It is fine now but cost 7000.00 to fix it. This happened awhile back. Someone mentioned on this forum there should be a guard available for the filter. With the backhoe on, it is hard to see sightglass to check fluid level. plowking

Thanks Plowking,

I read the thread about the hydraulic filter. I will have to look carefully at that. One of the reason I am interested in the SCUT sized machine is that my property is so rough and loaded with rocks. Seems like bad engineering to have the filter so venerable on a TLB machine!
