Gotta be some sort of scam. Maybe at least to get your e-mail address but something very suspicious about it.

What is the real story with the ebay tractors? Seems like some mighty fine deals but not sure about those that say don't contct me via ebay. Has anyone bought a tractor on ebay? Happy?

I didn't see your post until after the listing was removed, but there have been several such scams recently. The telltale signs:
<ul type="square"> [*]incredibly low price [*]free shipping (anywhere in the world, across the country, from Europe) [*]Contact me using a different e-mail address than my e-bay contact [/list]
I think that the primary purpose is probably to get your e-mail address. If you wrote to the "seller" using the "alternate" address shown in the listing, you can probably expect to get some additional junk e-mail. I think the folks that can really be hurt by this kind of scam are the people whose genuine listings are being copied by the scammers. It makes the legitmate listings also look questionable.

I have been scammed once and lost money, probably due to my own greed. Since then I have purchased a Farmall C($600) and Farmall C($100) parts tractor and thought I had done pretty well. The parts tractor, I sold the calcium filled rear tires in fair shape for $150/piece.
JD4600 with 460FEL with grapple fork, pallet fork and 7'6" Western Snow Plow, JD LX279, Farmall C, 84" KK finishing mower, 84" KK Landscape Box, 84" KK Landscape Rake, 84" KK Blade, and 72" KK Bush Hog, 7' Northern Tool Backhoe, Bri Mar 6X10 Dump Trailer, 20' Rugged Road Equipment Trailer.

I bought my old Kubota on ebay. No problems. I have bought other items on ebay also, no problem. As noted, the scams are there, too good to be true.
Careful with e-Bay. I've had a few bad experiences, not involving tractors, but there are thieves on there. Use PayPal or some other protected way of making a purchase so that their insurance covers some of your potential losses.
