Where you live, the only way the front snow thrower can be construed as overkill is if your brother appears at your place at the start of every snowstorm and shovels until you're all cleared out and the snow has stopped falling. With the snow this year, plowing stopped being an option (at least for me) after the second or third storm.

I have been using my craftman for years, I plowed the last storm (I broke the plow {2nd time since I owned it, and I also just fixed it}, because the snow was not pushed back far enough the times before), yes a snowblower would be nice but I just do not have the room to store it and swapping between blower and loader, now I just use the quick connect from loader to plow, ~3 minutes and done (from what I have read) and I have the heated cab to take my time and push it back where it belongs.

Also my brother does have a plow (past 3 years) on his truck and does it for me (when I don't feel like freezing), because I am just too cold out there (that is what the cab is for on my ordered kubota) but now I don't want to rely on him anymore and need to do it myself all the time again instead of sometimes (only for the past 3 years).

BUT I am certainly not ruling out a future purchase of a snowblower, if and when I get the room to store it, down the road.
Hey maybe they will add a snowblower that uses the quick connect and loader arms, then I will be really interested.

But like bp fick said push it back far enough the first time and all the rest is smooth, as I have done with the craftsman for years, but thank you for being so concerned for me, I do understand where you are coming from.

My 2 cents.

Snowblowers rule over plows, just too many advantages to them. Size and cost are not an advantage.

In winter, I need chains. Always have. Regardless of tire tread and tractor type. Chains on turfs work best  chains on ags work worst.

The 60" deck on my BX2670 has a worse cut quality than my 40 year old Wheel Horse it replaced did. I've read where others are also less than happy with the cut quality. I'm upgrading to Gator blades this year, I've heard they really help cut quality.

BX 2370

Dfran,

I too have a BX2370 with a FEL with QA bucket 60"MMM, 48" rear Brush hog and Kubota ballast box.

This year has been tough with all the snow, I've been toying with the idea of getting a front blower, but that setup complete runs a little North of $4K. I was able to clear my 400' driveway with the bucket , but it takes a LONG time. I have the Kubota ballast box with 400# of granite in it and it works great. Good free ballast can be found at any granite counter place-just ask the if you can have the cut offs . I have about 8 sink cutouts in mine, they are easy to lift and you can chuck em in the woods at the end of the winter!

The Kubota replaced a Wheelhorse with a front mount blower and that machine was tha bomb! I'm kicking my *** I sold it. Bought that machine new in 1994 and never put anything but gas and oil in it!!

I did get a soft cab for the Kubota, there are a lot of opinions here about soft cabs, but I love mine. I can put it on or take it off in 1 hour.

You are going to love your BX, it's an amazing machine. As far as mowing goes, I'm very happy with the performance of my 60" MMM again, my Wheelhorse 48" deck with vacuum system was better, but the Kubota deck works fine on my property . I do run 2" wheel spacers on the rear of my tractor, I noticed the machine getting a little light on the slight grade of my property. The spacers make it feel much safer.

Maintenance is not an issue, the folks on this forum are FULL of knowledge, everybody helps everybody out. Did you buy your machine at Norfolk?

Cheers,
BN

Re: BX 2370

Thank You.
That was also a dilemma, the price of the snowblower attachment besides my storage issue (being the major part) and it does not use the quick hitch from the loader or plow I am getting. I have been dealing with plowing for years now and yes this year was very bad for us as a 12" minimum per storm and getting up to 26" max in one of them, all a week apart just about.

I am getting it from
Goldstein's Lawn & Farm
Very Pleasant so far...
Thanks

Re: BX 2370

Im just North of Plymouth MA. I feel you pain with the storage issue, though I have a BIG garage, I also have lots of Stuff! Storage was the main reason for selling the Wheelhorse.

I've gotten pretty good at fitting everything into the garage. I can remove the ballast box in a minute, I have a cart that I drop it onto. The FEL comes off in a blink. It all works out!

I hear good things about Goldstiens.
