EcoBoost. I'm taking a gamble that the V-6 with turbo's will be reliable and give a little extra fuel mileage.

On the way home (70+ mph on the freeway) it avg. ~19 mpg. Cruising around town 30-45 mph it was bumping 25+ mpg. After about 55-60 it settles at just over 20-21.

I avg. 15-16 out of my ext. cab Z-71 V-8, about 18 on the highway at 55-65 mph. I'm hoping I can avg. 19+ with this truck.

Congrats:thumbsup: Were did you end up having to go? Eco 6 or 5.0

Congrats. I always thought Ford would have a nice niche with the crew and 6.5' box on a 1/2 ton. A lot of people don't need the 3/4 capacity, ride, etc, but could benefit from that extra foot of bed.

It's not an "extra foot" in my eyes. It's normal. Just no way I can use a truck with a 5.5' bed, I really need an 8'er but then with the ext. cab they just get too long.

As I mentioned earlier, order it. I wouldn't want a new ecoboost someone else test drove. I know what I did on my test drive.

I ended up buying the 6.2 GMC that I test drove...Doubt the salesman would ever get in a vehicle with me again:D

Did the same test with a 5.3 to make up my mind...He must have wanted that commission really bad.

I drove a 6.2 in a crew cab, that thing was impressive!

Another bonus is accelerated depr if business use with that 6.5' CC. Last year rules changed to delete the shorter 5.5' box CC from accelerated depr.

We need some 1/2, 3/4 ton versions like this:

When test driving a Wrangler, I kicked it down to 4x4 low when the road dead ended. Car sales men will put up with all sorts of crap

I do wish Ford would make something like the Avelanche. Its got a crew cab or an 8' bed, just not both at once.
I wonder when we'll see a vehicle that expands. With Hybrids and electric drive on the rear axle, we could see trucks with a variable wheel base and bed length before too long.:confused2:

Well I've had the 6.2 for a year and a half...I'll take my 4mpg lower for the normally asperated 400 HP.....I'm sure the Eco thing is just fine though....I just don't like add-ons.
