List price for that setup is $33423 then normally add tax on top of that. $21,500 is a 35.7% discount off 2018 list price. That's a very good price.
I think your neighbor is offering an ok price, used 3520's all over the map - nothing listed with a backhoe but 1300 hours vs 69 is a tough pill to swallow. Do you have any tasks that really require the extra weight the 3520 offers or would the Kubota
B3350 or Deere 2038r work just fine for what you need?
I think you're feeling conflicted because the guy is your neighbor and friend and like Major said sometimes that gets complicated. That being said, your buddy at JD is not offering to buy you the tractor or coming over to mow/care for your property so you need to do what is best for you and a good friend will understand that. If you decide u want the Kubota, call the guy or have him over for drinks and tell him you are going that way because it is such a great deal for the money (He's in the business and he knows the numbers/values out there so he'll know it's a good deal). Don't lose a friend because u hid from him you bought a Kubota but don't lose a friend because u bought a 1300 hour tractor that you might not have needed just to make him happy but now you're not happy and less $21k - u know what I'm saying? If I was your friend at the JD dealership I'd tease you all the time but I'd still be there for you and help you out anytime - that is what a true friend would do.
Remember, in the end, its
YOUR money being spent. Period.
Lastly, the only sucky thing about the Kubota is the pin-on bucket instead of quick-attach but u can ask the dealer if they could swap the bucket, will cost u some $$ probably.
