the only other thing you could do is use the money from the b/h and buy other accessories!!! did you have a reason for choosing a flail mower vs RMRM - remember the flail will take quite a bit more HP to run - they are a little easier to maneuver around things and with the minimal hp you will have on the PTO of a small compact tractor you will likely be giving it a workout - they don't cut any better than a RMRM matter of fact probably worse but if its what you have go for it, its not a horrible thing just different.

how about one of these? just got it today, haven't even gotten it dirty yet - I have to ask, why would you need a backhoe on 6 acres? I would save the $ on the backhoe. If you have a sizeable excavating machine for some project/task you can do whatever you need to do in a days time rental than it would take you a year to do with a small backhoe. It doesn't make sense unless you just have a lot of time to waste.

searcyfarms, looks great! My dealer called me yesterday - Woods is still 2 weeks out on getting the backhoe shipped so about 3 weeks roughly for me still to get.

rngrrymd,

Never did ask you if the Case is actually a CNH product? Fiat engine? And if you are still interested in that time share?, the only drawback is it is located on one of those new militarized islands in the South China Sea, but the view is indescribable yet the neighbors do make a lot of construction racket. Access can be a bit limited, can catch a ride on a destroyer from the mainland most days...……...

well I didn't get the BH so I got mine faster LOL - they had to gather tractor, bucket-loader,MMM from 3 different dealers - I am thinking about getting the guards for the lights on the rops, haven't been out to look yet to see if its got a 12V receptacle for my seeder/spreader - I know between my daughter/wife/myself those lights will get torn off by a tree or swingset or something that reaches out and grabs us - might put some lights up top, think I need to let about an inch of air out of the tires for better ride and then I also wont have to drop the ROPS to drive it into the shop door. Its got 3 hours on it and 25 hour break in oil so will take it easy till things seasoned a bit. I love the loader lever position already oh my its perfect.

•2017 kubota B3350HSD TLB w/ 69 hrs ($21.5K no tax)

List price for that setup is $33423 then normally add tax on top of that. $21,500 is a 35.7% discount off 2018 list price. That's a very good price.

I think your neighbor is offering an ok price, used 3520's all over the map - nothing listed with a backhoe but 1300 hours vs 69 is a tough pill to swallow. Do you have any tasks that really require the extra weight the 3520 offers or would the Kubota B3350 or Deere 2038r work just fine for what you need?

I think you're feeling conflicted because the guy is your neighbor and friend and like Major said sometimes that gets complicated. That being said, your buddy at JD is not offering to buy you the tractor or coming over to mow/care for your property so you need to do what is best for you and a good friend will understand that. If you decide u want the Kubota, call the guy or have him over for drinks and tell him you are going that way because it is such a great deal for the money (He's in the business and he knows the numbers/values out there so he'll know it's a good deal). Don't lose a friend because u hid from him you bought a Kubota but don't lose a friend because u bought a 1300 hour tractor that you might not have needed just to make him happy but now you're not happy and less $21k - u know what I'm saying? If I was your friend at the JD dealership I'd tease you all the time but I'd still be there for you and help you out anytime - that is what a true friend would do.

Remember, in the end, its YOUR money being spent. Period.

Lastly, the only sucky thing about the Kubota is the pin-on bucket instead of quick-attach but u can ask the dealer if they could swap the bucket, will cost u some $$ probably.

Yes, same tractor as NH Powerstar 75 (called T4.75 last year) - Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT 3.4L 4cyl) Motor, only 1958RPM for 540PTO. 6240 lbs bare tractor then add the BH, loader, wheel weights, filled tires and fluids - should be about 10k lbs. I'm going to love the tractor - the payment not so much.

The timeshare is on one of those new islands China just built in waters that don't belong to them? Outstanding! Sounds like it could be a blast to go there sometime but you really - you shouldn't have spent so much Bitcoin buying into that timeshare.:cool:

I really like the 2038R and you can see that it's on my short list. Congrats on your purchase! $10K more though the 3520 and B3350 and I just spent $$$ on the land. The backhoe is another struggle. I want one more than I need one. Same as anyone else that doesn't use it to make money. For $9K I can rent one nearly every weekend for the rest of my life and still save money. I rationalize it with, "I need the ballast" or I can use it whenever I want. Put in a drainage ditch I didn't know I needed, "we need a coy pond right there" etc...

Yup, that why I'm looking at compacts instead of subs. I could honestly get away with a 1025R or BX but need the PTO HP for the flail and weight for the box blade. The hedgerow, once it's cleared out, is going to have a lot of nooks and crannies that I'll need to maneuver around and I thought the flail would be easier to get around trees and also to store when not in use.

You nailed it on the head on all points. Pin on bucket is a big minus. The 3520 with 1300 hours is truly mint though. It literally looks new sitting on the lot. The orange tractor is at a dealer and if I can negotiate 0% financing rather than using my last cash on the JD, it's a done deal.

I've bought two used deeres at dealers. The money is 3% for 36 months on them. I'm pretty sure no other financial institutions will beat it.
