Does anyone have any experience with Quality Equipment in Smithfield NC? They have a New Holland i would seriously consider.

Late last year I wanted a used pre-emission cab tractor. I watched local dealer websites, Tractorhouse, Craigslist, etc. Over a period of months, the common thread was that all (except the last one:)) looked a lot nicer in pictures than in real life. Two that seemed to be serious contenders looked great, but felt really poor when I was able to sit in them and operate them. It was worth a few hours on the road to check them out. The one I did buy looked better when I was able to see and drive it. After putting 30 hours on it doing some snow clearing and a few times mowing, it was a good move.

I bought from a JD dealer. The dealer was able to provide all warranty and service records. It was trade and they provided the former owners name and phone number. I asked for and got a dyno test for it from the service department, they also rest the rear wheels to the width I specified.

There was an arm rest missing on the seat and a plastic vent/grill on the side of the hood was broken. They did not show this in any of the pictures. The seat had the one arm rest folded up and I assumed the opposite one was also folded up. The loader boom blocked the view of the hood vent. It looked as good in person as in the pictures. I still have it, bought in 2010

Delivery was about $2/mile it came on the rear of an open semi trailer. The owner/operator had ramps to get it only/off with out needing a loading dock.

Long story short a friend of mine moved several states away and had a nice JD cab tractor with a loader on it and wanted it moved to his new place several months later. He ask me would I help in loading it and his equipment if he set it all up. A guy came with a semi truck and standard height flat trailer, I put the equipment on with the loader the way he wanted and had to get the tractor on with no ramps and no dock. The guy calling for his tractor had a roll back show up, I loaded the tractor on the roll back, he moved to the back of the semi trailer and I drove it on. He was there with the rollback all of 20 minutes and charged $60.
