Looks great! Why not cut the cover to fit? I used the heaver paper binder clips on my first try. They worked well and once attached you can squeeze the silver arms and carefully remove them from the clip for a cleaner look. This time I used magnets sewn into the hem to hold tight to the body. They almost work too well as they want to stick to the frame when I'm putting it on. I made mine out of 1/2" EMT but you wouldn't have that problem with the copper. As for the hole I would suggest filing the edge of a scrap of copper pipe sharp and with a piece of wood backing using it to cut the hole. That should give you a nice clean edge. The heating and melting would work if the cover isn't fiber reinforced.

Good luck and stay dry,
Michael

I like it! That's a lot of looks and functionality for $125.

The Puma snowblower, BX2200 and the new plastic cab had a work out tonight, about 6-8 inches of heavy wet snow. The Puma and BX ate the snow up, no problem. The plastic cab wasl …..GREAT! Well worth the $125 I have into it and a few hours of my time. The cab kept the blowing snow and wind off of me and made snowblowing a lot more fun! Starting to get the hang of backing up for long distances.

To follow up with the post above…I cut the plastic front windshield using a sharpen ¾ inch copper tube, and then attached the light to it. The rear light on the ROPS did not have to be relocated. I made a box and covered the back of the light with it. The box prevented the glare from the light bouncing off the plastic rear window from blinding me. Looks like I will be using the BX a lot this winter, this is storm 3 and we just started winter!

Have a Merry Christmas and Safe New Year

Ray,

Do you have a paved driveway? If so, when you snowblow does the Puma get down to the pavement? Mind does not it leaves about 1/2"-1" of snow, just wondering if I have the top link adjusted properly. I have it set up so the front tips of the blower is about ½" off the ground. I also have the skids so they are not touching the ground. If I lower the tips so its even with the pavement it digs into the pavement and make a mark. I have set it up only when it is dry and with no snow. Guess I will try lowering the front of the blower tips and see it is works, but thought I would see how you have it set up.

Anyone with a snowblower, feel free to jump it!

Happy shopping!

Tom. Mine does not have skids, I just put it down on the blacktop and go! It takes it down to where there is blacktop showing and does not dig into the blacktop. See attached photo.

Driveway is all done.I have a 500 foot gravel driveway.I have my skids adjusted about a half inch and I have the top link adjusted so that the blower is angled back towards the tractor.I still have a few stumps I need to jump over when I blow out the sawmill and chickens.Put the blower on your driveway and look at the side of the blower.Does the whole side touch the pavement?I adjust mine in the garage,no pave driveway to do it in and mine doesn't because I want it to ride over the stumps. When I look at the side of mine, where the aguers are, this tilts back towards the tractor. You may have to adjust your top link to make it tip down toward the ground. Not alot, but some.I know it will do a clean job.The old farmhouse has a paved driveway and that use to clean it down to the tar.Now I have it set up this way.Took me a few storms and many shear bolts to get it right.Watch out for the handle that adjust the chute when you adjust the top link. You don't want it to hit the back of your seat.

Well we have had 6 snowstorms with perhaps a big one on the way Sunday into Monday. The golf cart cab has worked great. No fogging of the plastic windows and the snow does not stick to it. It has made snow blowing fun again. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Here is view of the tractor outside.

I added a yellow light to take care of the loss of the flashing lights on the tractor. With the sides of the cab wrapped around the back I lost the flashers.

I want to relocate the rear light, see attached picture, to the snow blower. The light is in the center, and when snowblowing the snow blocks the light. I was thinking of mounting the light on the snowblow itself, has anyone done this before, and how did it work?
