On my property there is an old house foundation with sections of it being made of stacked rocks and rocks with mortar. For several years it has been unusable and overgrown with weeds and small trees. My plan is to clean up the area by removing the old foundation and then grade and sow grass seed. I decided to keep the stacked rocks to build my own stacked rock wall as a tribute to the people that originally settled this property. I don't know how they did it. Some of the rocks must weigh over 200 lbs. There was also an old black walnut tree stump located next to the old foundation. I used an ax to cut the roots. It is probably about 18" in diameter. It wasn't easy, but I got it out. Renting equipment is not an option right now. I sold my wife on the BX-25 based upon the idea that I would no longer have to rent backhoes or mini excavators.

Your wife made the right choice, not only will you not be renting your going be looking for things to do around the yard for years to come. In the end you will have done things you would never even think about without the tractor and your yard will show for it.

Looks like a BX25 size and kind of job. Stump is big for it but the BX25 and time will get it out.

keep working it. great therapy! If I were you, I'd take the SVM sign off that cylinder. I broke my band just from digging. Its easy to ruin it. IF you don't drive it on the road, just put it away for now.

Nice pic's. Can't wait to try out my backhoe, but it won't look like that around here until at least April. Have fun with your new toy, err, tool.

Mine broke off some time ago. Don't know where and don't know when. Maybe if you had told this sooner I might would have taken mine off and still have it of course I would have put it up but wouldn;t remember where so still would be without one or with one but don't know where it is.

Get a toothbar on that bucket and your machine will did 10 times better. You wouldn't believe the difference!

Looks like a lot of fun. I have an old foundation up the hollow from me that I'm going to tackle like that someday.

Good post......

On my BX24 I bought a muffler type of clamp and welded a SMV bracket to it and primed and painted it Orange. Then I bought a metal SMV sign as opposed to a cheap plastic one that came with my tractor. No breakage with that setup. Although don't tighten up the clamp to tight just good and sung.

Now for a question Shmudda mentioned a "toothbar". How and or why would it help you dig?

Now back to the topic. Nice tractor and awesome job on your project, Now go play oops work ;) your tractor
