Just for the heck of it would like comments on the pluses and minus of upgrading from a BX 25 (pre D) to a B2620. Yes, I know I would lose the back hoe which in reality I rarely use.

My rational and feel free to shoot it down. First I have a one acre lot but I do help neighbors in the rural sub division.

B 2620 more ground clearance, larger displacement engine with more Hp at lower RPM and larger hydraulic pump. Option of a larger alternator. Heavier lift and slightly larger FEL and three point hitch. Three speed HST transmission vs two on the BX
Built in frame mounted trailer hitch and draw bar at a useable height. Much better dash.Unfortunatelly not the better seat on the BX 25D or the B2650. Overall size not significantly larger than BX 25 and a wider track for better stability

Current BX 25 slightly smaller, back hoe which is rarely used, and it is paid for.

Need to make a decision before I instal work lights and back up camera on the BX

My primary uses include frequent use of the FEL ( could use a slightly larger one) re-positing trailers which now must be done with our SUV. Rear implements to include sprayer, lawn plugger and box blade

Ok shoot me down, I'm a fool at my age spending the money

I believe you named all the pluses. I can't see any disadvantage. You could move up to a B3200 or B3300:D

Didn't think about a bucket hitch but I did find an implement for the three point hitch called a trailer mover and plan to order one. That would solve issue one. The decision as to upgrading is still on the table, partially waiting for a firm "dollar difference" figure from my dealer as well as answering the self question " do I really need a larger tractor?"

If I do decide to upgrade the B2620 would be as large as I would go as larger would be counter productive as far as getting into tight places. Trying to make a logical decision and not just a " grass is greener" and "I want larger"

I have seven acres, two 4wd compacts, no loader or backhoe. Do you really need a loader for your lot? Both of my tractors have a front mounted hitch allowing me to park trailers with precision. Sell your tractor to a neighbor and borrow it when you need a loader. I would like to have a loader but have done OK without one for years.

Actually I use the loader a lot. Among other uses it is my powered garden cart to move stuff around the property. I have even thought about a quick disconnect for the bucket itself to allow me to quickly attach pallet forks. It is the back hoe I rarely use except to help neighbors. Bottom line is that a small tractor is a regularly used tool around my place and very useful. I'm just looking at maximizing the tool to best service my needs and possibly eliminating those things I don't actually use for my needs.

The greater ground clearance of the B model is a necessity for me. You'll absolutely love having the Kubota quick connect for swapping between pallet forks and bucket. I sometimes swap them half a dozen or more times in a day. Once you start palletizing equipment and supplies and moving them with the tractor and pallet forks, you'll wonder how you ever managed before.

For those still reading I made a decision and committed to a B2920. My wife thinks I should just be committed. Options are quick detachable FEL bucket and pallet forks plus turf tires.

Yes I know I was looking at the 2620 but the dealer made me a great deal and several friend much more knowledgeable than me said get the larger engine. After lots of thought and research my reasons are:

1. I rarely use the backhoe on the BX 25. 2. I wanted a stronger transmission, beefed up hydraulics (the pump on the "B" series is considerable larger and pushes more gallons per minute) 3. I did not want a significantly physically larger tractor as it would be hard to get in and out of tight spots and the "B" is barely larger than the BX but much stronger. It also has more ground clearance and is 4 plus inches shorter to the top of the ROPS.

Both the FEL and the three point hitch are still cat 1 but rated much higher than the BX so larger and heavier loads can by worked. My wife already has plans for me with the pallet forks for moving stuff around the property, the quick detachable feature will make it easy to switch from bucket to forks. I have removed my mods from the BX including my canopy and am making a bracket to mount on the ROPS for two work lights and a back up camera.

Did I make a right decision, only time will tell but right now I see only pluses, the only minus being I should have thought this out more before I bought the BX. That is not to say the BX 25 is not a great unit but with only one tractor this fits my needs better.

I hope that works out for you. I've had a B2920 for about 3 years now, and it has certainly been useful. I bought mine with the BH, and find it hasn't quite earned it's keep...if I ever change, I'd skip that part as you did. Congrats, I'm sure you will like the new tractor.

If you're happy, then you made the right decision. You had a great little tractor and now you'll have a great but somewhat larger tractor. Enjoy! Pictures of the new arrival are always appreciated.
