BX 2680. Front bucket, grapple, pallet forks, box blade aireator 008-5 excavator ZD 1211 mower RTV 500
I see pluses and minuses on both. Biggest grip about B is poor seat and location of gas filler cap. Biggest minuses on BX are lower ground clearance reduced lifting and engine having to run higher RPM to get power
Went from a grand L cabbed last year to a BX and am second guessing myself . I’m 82 plus and take care of an acre all the time and help my neighbors with my tractor Grand L was just too big to get into tight spots . By the way I mow with a zero turn so the tractor is not a secondary mower its uses are grapple, front loader, fork lift . Box blade and aerator
Comment appreciated

I think you’ve hit the main aspects … the only comment I can make is maybe the bx might be to small depending on where you plan to use the loader… isn’t the bx loader approximately half the capacity of the b loader?

I went from a BX 2350 to a John Deere 2025r. The JD is roughly the same size as the Kubota 2601.

I liked my BX and owned it 10 years but the small bucket got old. The bigger tires are nice along with the bigger bucket on my JD. It rides better on rough ground. I move firewood around a lot and the higher road speed is nice.

2601 no question. Only reason to get a bx is if you need something that small for a particular task. The BX tractors are are very capable, but very limited when it comes to loader and 3pt work.

I have had a BX2660 with R series tires ( so not the turf ones) for over 15 yrs and if doing again would go with the B26 even with the disadvantages you mentioned, and only reason would be the bigger size wheels for traction that the B series has, the power and capabilities are otherwise similar, but I generally don't run out of power, I run out of traction. The smaller wheels don't have the torque and spin before I run out of power. Of note the other problems you mentioned I overcame with homemade permanent welded bucket side and top extensions, and a homemade removal plywood bash plate underneath to protect the fan and filters etc. And got rear wheel spacers for the stability .

I have a B2601
I've never even considered a BX.
I have a Bolens HT 23 and see the BX on that capability level with the addition of a 540rpm rear pto.
We have snow here. Ground clearance and large tires are an advantage.

With that, the smaller tractors like the B7200 and Bolens are sure handy up next to the house or under the fruit trees.

Still thinking about perhaps to get upgrading to a B 2601 I can live with where the gas cap is. The seat would have to be replaced and I can’t say anything bad about IBX 2680 that only has 35 hours on it and I put a third function for my grapple, etc. so I lose some money but I’m finding their times I want to lift something that just is too heavy for the front loader arrangement with pallet forks on and that’s a big flush with the B is the increased lifting capacity not so much the bigger bucket that’s not a player with me. The three speed transmission is definitely something I should’ve given more thought to. I had it on my grand and it was great. The two speed on the BX is OK, but neither one is the right one if you know what I mean a towing bar that the bee has and the BX does not has some advantages. I don’t know whether I’m trying to talk myself into another tractor and spend more money or whether these functions really, I’ll get more use out of then the BX will do just takes longer and have to do smaller loads , always looking for comments. It’s a hot afternoon in Texas so I can’t get any outside work done.

Where is the fuel capon a B2601? They make all sorts of handy little fuel pumps for $20 or less. I usually pump a couple of gallons out of my 5 gallon cans and that makes it easier to dump from the can then.

On the B series and the LX tractors the fuel filler cap is at the rear on the top of the hood a small pump is a great idea. On the BX and the grand L it is on the back fender at waist height
