I figgered this was a prob unique to be but, my neighbor who bought a BX23 a month after I did was complaining about the same thing last weekend. Of course, I had to realize my solution before he got to it.
Problem: when keeping an eye on a scraper over my left shoulder, I ran out of arm to control the 3PH height (especially in the down position), resulting in extreme fatigue that I promptly treated with liberal amounts of homebrew which usually resulted in a shorter day than planned.
Solution: Rebuild the 3PH control lever.
Detail: The main connection to the tractor hardware is 3/16 x 1 bar bent using a torch and the angle was set by eyeballing comparison with the factory lever. The top portion is 1/8 x 3/4 bar angled to fit. All pieces are welded. The knob was cobbled out of junk oak moulding, shaped on a table saw and 1" belt sander. .. not a real big deal project but sumpthin I needed to git done.
Yes!, I know it needs painting.
Cheers!

Wait til you are using a post hole digger and you are doing the lean left/lean right, grab the handles dance!

Great mod.

I think it's stupid the PTO and 3PH controls aren't on the same side. My temporary solution is to place the PHD, dismount, and have son control the 3PH from the right side while I control the pto from the left. We can both see it better also!

Got any mods planned to fix this one for me?

Thanks.
Ron

Thats a good idea /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I only have two problems, (not with your idea) I can see myself hitting the cruuise and smaking my knuckes and I think that I am too fat to have that lever that close to me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You have "cruise" on a 2230!?!? ... sounds like a party-waiting -to-happen ... I'll check into trading mine in /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
My knuckles are usually sore ... I thought that was a "benefit" of country life ... I've learned a lot on this website /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I don't know much about fat or thin but I've got mighty thin a time or two when one or two of those pesky wheels have come off the ground whilst doing something extremely intelligent /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Cheers!

When you get around to making one, you'll notice a HUGE difference in the way the control feels, just from replacing the flimsey factory lever... it's like you actually have control over it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wanted to leave the original lever so I could go back if I ever decided to. I drilled the lever and used two 1/4" bolts and acorn nuts.
