There you go tractorgp . The old true Newfoundland way . One Newfoundlander helping the other out when needed . I have watched all of the videos that you and Paul have put on You tube and enjoyed all of them .

Thanks seal oil, I enjoy making up the videos it's a great retirement hobby (for me not Paul :))

Past 2 days we've had a couple of nuisance snowfalls that amounted to an inch with a frozen crust and last night a frozen half inch of snow. The BX25 D has been INVALUABLE in being able to hop on and scrape down the newly, paved driveway with the FEL. My driveway has a very steep 100' section which must be kept clear in order to prevent icing up. So glad I have this great tractor to use for these little snowfalls that are to small for the walk behind blowers and too big for a hand shovel! Well, not too big for shoveling but a definite life/back saver! Love the BX!

Don't envy you with that steep slope to work on but given the alternatives hard to beat the BX for just about any kind of home snow clearing. Since I posted the video (1st Page) I've replaced the chute deflector linear actuator (had to adapt a non OEM actuator), installed a new driveline shield, some other minor stuff and installed the snow blower on the BX. Doing some editing now and hope to post a video or two over next few days.

The FEL and a front blade can be angled (front to back for both, not left to right for a FEL) to scrape down to the driveway, as long as the FEL/front blade are not in float mode.

Alternately, the lip of the bucket can be tilted up a bit so the bottom of it rides on the ground to leave an inch or so of snow in place. Handy for the first couple storms if you have a gravel driveway and the ground isn't quite frozen yet...sure beats scraping up dirt. Couple storms, some cold weather and you've got enough of a base built up so no problem rest of the winter.

I've had a BX25 with a front-mounted snowblower for the last 4 winters and for the most part have few complaints. But at the beginning and end of the snow season we get heavy wet snows that might quickly turn to slush so I'm taking a different approach this year. I had a machinist cut a 3/8" slot in a piece of 1 1/5" schedule 40 pipe for the cutting edge of my bucket as others on here have done. I welded a short piece of angle iron to each end to bolt it to the bucket sides. This works GREAT. I cleaned up 2-3" of wet slush yesterday (3rd storm so far this season). You don't have to worry about getting the bucket angle perfect, in fact, a little down angle helps. I wish I had done this years ago. The other advantage is that you get to keep the bucket on longer; the tractor isn't just sitting around with the blower attached waiting for the first storm. My 2 cents.

Man I envy you the paved driveway. When our first snow arrived this year I was not quite prepared and had to use the FEL instead of the blower. Made a real mess of our unfrozen gravel drive.

For the first 20+ years I had a combination of pavement and gravel and a lousy lawn. Cost big $'s to get the new pavement but definitely worth it :)

Well...let me clarify! Only one third of my 500 ft driveway is paved...the worst part is the last 200 feet to a 90 degree turn up a steep grade, then up the the landing at the house level. The lower 300 ft is gravel which is in need of some material and the first storm of the year (Thanksgiving eve) my gravel was not frozen either...what a mess! I plow the gravel with a 4 wheeler and it was digging in and spraying gravel everywhere.

But a beautiful place!
