Would the owners of the Curtis cabs that fit the BX series of tractors please post there likes and dislikes of the cab and how it fits your tractor. Have you had any problems that had to be resolved, or were not able to be resolved? Close up pictures of the cab from both outside and inside would be helpful. I have only seen one soft sided Curtis cab on the BX, and I don't remember much about it and that is my reason for making this request. How much room is there inside the cab and how close is the right side door when you are operating the loader control? Pictures of the heater and how it is hooked up will also be helpful I need/want a Curtis Cab, but I want to make sure that it is the best choice in the soft sided cabs. I don't care for the Sims design because of the "pocket" for the loader control and only one door, so that one isn't in the running. With Curtis only 30 miles away, I can pick it up and save on shipping also. Thanks..... The Original Junk /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have a couple of pic's that I've gotten off TBN. I too would like to see some more detail rear pics of the Curtis, maybe the hard version too.

I have the Curtis Cab, and short of having a nice factory cab, it is a real improvement than no cab at all. I'm 6'4, and fit in the cab quite well. I installed an overhead radio that I do hit with my head from time to time, but that is my own planning that caused that. It is not air-tight, so I've stuffed fiberglass pink insulation in the drafty areas. I'm quite happy with it, but as I have said, a factory cab is sweet.

Junkman (and my apologies to those I've bored before with these pictures), I've installed a 5' blade on the front of the tractor. It was a 3PH set-up that I converted to fit the loader arms. I took the bucket cylinder off as well and used it on this set up as a power angle cylinder. I'll post a couple pictures here, just fire away if you have questions. At one time I had a blade both on the front and rear. I got "smart" and bought a rear snow blower which is great, but of course, I then needed a cab to keep the snow off me. You got to admire an understanding wife..........................

Junkman,
I have a soft sided cab on the Bx 2200 and the only issue is the fuel fill. A poor design-funnel required to add fuel.

Plenty of room-heater works great.

I was going to post some pictures of mine but Av8r2230 saved me the trouble. I've got more but I'm sure you you've seen them as they have been posted her before.

As for dislikes, I don't have too many. The fuel fill is awkward but I bought a little pump to go on my fuel can and solved that. It does seem to make the tractor louder on your ears, too but I use hearing protection.

As for likes, well there's too many to mention! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I picked up a kerosene battery pump on e-bay for $8 to transfer fuel from the 5 gallon container to the Kubota. Sims design is not much better. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I put the fuel container on a garbage can since the pump does not lift that well.

I have been told that a cab is not available from Curtis Cab for the BX23. This was in the summer. Maybe one available now. Sims has no cab available also.

I have seen the Curtis soft side cab mounted on a BX22 this past fall, but it was late in the day and I wasn't able to look it over closely because it was getting dark. The owner said that it fit well and he had no problems using the backhoe. He also commented that if he were taller, it might make it a problem for him. From what I remember, the cab was about an inch lower than the hight of the ROPS. I am going to look at one on a BX2230 this afternoon and will take pictures.

Matt,
I don't want to hijack this thread but would like some more info on your "loader mount blade." Is there additional info posted in another thread. Thanks, Jerry

Junk

I was under the impression that a new cabed tractor was in your future? I guess your still kicking it around.

I did go look at what I think was the Kubota model 3030? with cab(on Line). That is going to be one hot selling tractor. I could see how you may be drawn to it. Any way I was not able to tell if it had Air also? I get the feeling you may know the answer.

I see this model setting a whole new trend in the CUT market

The new 3030HSTC does come with air and it is still in consideration. I am going to keep the BX22 for other things such as snow blowing. I wouldn't want to expose the 3030 to the harsh winters of New England. It would be more of a summer time tractor living a life of luxury in some warm climate during the winter. You might call it a snow bird tractor... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bob: Sorry for stealing your pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

They are very good and are part of my decision process between the Curtis and Sim's cab. Have you posted some pics of the rear of the cab before? Could you link to them or maybe repost them here? I would be very interested in any or all of the pictures you have. If you would go to my web-page, my e-mail link is there. Thank you very much!!

Maybe it isn't just the new Kubota tractor setting trends. This whole snowbird tractor idea may even top that. :`o Let me see another tractor just for fair weather... I wonder how the wife will take that??? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
