Snow BX FEL snow plow

Looks like a great plow setup. I was thinking along those lines for mine as well. I ended up going a different direction. Wish I would have seen yours before I made that decision. I really like how simple the design is, and how close to the front wheels you were able to keep the plow.

Thanks alot Jimmer!!:D

HDBiker - Do you mean that I should take off my top tilt cylinder and make a bracket to go onto the plow itself so that I have the left and right movement? If thats what you mean then that would be a good idea. Then I either make a solid piece of steel that goes from the bucket to the loader arms in its place, or have a chain type thing. Was that what you were talking about?

Only problem with that that I can see is it might take more time to switch around when I want to take the plow off and use the bucket, because I would have to disassemble and reassemble more things. But still, its a great idea and will keep it in mind!

Hmm, I've got a Wheel Horse with a plow that just blew an axle seal and is out of commission, and a BX with FEL. Maybe some cross pollination is in order :)

By the way, a lot of guys here buy cylinders from Surplus Center. Here's a link to their hydraulic cylinders.

Yeah this design works pretty good. Could use a few changes to make it a bit better, but its a good start.

So I looked at this website and I found a cylinder. This one is smaller than the one I was looking at before. Only thing is, this ones working pressure is only 1500 psi when the tractor puts out 1900 psi. Is that ok? Will the cylinder blow? It is a bit more money though, and I dont want to spend that much. Here is my two options...

This is the one I was talking about above...I can get it in various strokes...

This is the other one I was looking at...Only 8 inch stroke.

Prodirt, have you decided on the hydralic angle setup yet? (I know it is now over 7 months later). I am looking to purchase a myers (or similar snow plow with or w/o the angle hydraulics) and will likely 'share' your design on my bx. That was my basic thought anyhow, and I might actually use ratchet straps to help hold it on (borrowed from my ratchet rake). Great design, did you have any issue with it 'pushing' the tractor side to side when angled? esp with a light(er) bx1500?

Thanks for any more info as we prepare again for the inevitable season.

basic fun- I just nearly finished setting up a meyers plow on my BX fel arms with manual angle. I guess I'll find out this winter if the truck plow pushes the BX to side with it angled or not. I had it straight angled before and it works just fine but slower then angled.

I'll be doing the same, though possibly leaving the FEL bucket on. and it is BASSicfun ;) 2 s's.. not misspelled, I'm a bass player for many years. ;)
