I should of asked this question before I left the dealer, but I figure I'll give the TBN'ers a chance to set me straight. I bought a set of filters (1 engine oil, other hydraulic system). However, neither came marked for the respective service (Both say oil filter on the box). One of them is grey and closely matches the original hydraulic filter, so I assume it's the hydraulic filter. The second is white and is shorter then the original engine oil filter, with no hex flats on the can. I assume this is the engine filter. It also appears to have a check valve diaphram (again makes me think it's the engine oil filter). Before I install these, do I have it correct?
Secondly, we're all aware of the lack of access to get the engine oil filter on and off. With the shorter filter with no flats, how the heck does Kubota expect you to remove this thing when the time comes???? It seems like it would make sense to make these a little longer so they protrude out of the cowling a little. If I have them confused and the short one is for the hydraulics, then it's not a problem to get to.
I'll get the P/N's off the boxes tonight.
