Thank you John Miller for the excellent and timely information. I think we will see more and more of this due to the excellent sales strength of the BX line and the coming subcompacts from the other guys. This can only be good for all small tractor guys. Thanks again. J

I also appreciate the heads-up, and will keep an eye out. I agree with TresCrows, the market will be growing, and they want to be a part of it.

John,

Sounds like a good idea to me.

The dealer they show on their web site near me (30 miles) was surprised to see their name on the King Kutter web page. I was none to happy either for a 60 mile drive or a wasted morning. Salvaged the day with a Land pride Box Scraper.

Interesting that when I tried a 200 mile radius search for dealers not one "real" tractor dealer showed up, of any brand, JD NH KU,etc etc. I wonder why? Wonderful items with no markup? Horrible product with huge markup? Or do the dealers stay away from newer companies? Or afraid of offending current suppliers?

I'd like to think it is a typically good product at a fair price struggling to get established (no easy task!). It's kind of funny, sometimes I run into people that think they have to buy a Kubota box scraper to use on their Kubota etc, and don't even think of checking the JD dealer or NH, or independent supplier. The only reason you can't use another brand is it violates decorum (color wise) /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif and a can of Kubota Orange Paint will solve that problem!

With 2 oranges and a blue compact tractor I guess I'll have to go with white or black paint!

I just called my local (well kinda) TSC to inquire about the KingKutter implements. They actually are pushing the Wallace line (don't know anything about them) over the KK's. I priced at Middle Buster and Landscape rake and Wallace beat KK's price hands down. So, this leads to another question, and possibly another thread, what is the Wallace company and are they any good???

TSC has the KingKutter implements painted <font color=red>red</font color=red> with their own "brand" name. {should also have KingKutter name stamped on unit as well}

Quality Farm & Country et al has the KingKutter implements painted <font color=yellow>yellow</font color=yellow> with <font color=red>KingKutter</font color=red> name stamped on unit.

I understand the KingKutter dealer listing posted on the web-site is extremely outdated and that is also being updated. Call their "800" number for the latest info, though...

John, they must have changed in the last year or so, then, because the brochures I got, directly from KingKutter, show all their implements painted yellow, with their name on them.

When I bought my King Kutter box blade last fall I shopped at both Quality Farm and TSC. They are less than a mile apart near us. These two blades were very different and I went with the King Kutter (actually got a better deal at Big R). The red scraper at TSC was noticably chincier than the King Kutter. It had lower box height and flimsy scarifier attachments. It was not labeled so I couldn't tell who made it. I've been happy with my King Kutter so far, particularly for the price /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

sdsjr3: I looked at the KK,Howse,Rhino, and Wade Phillips rakes. Howse and KK were about the same quality and about the same price for a 6' rake ($330). The Rhino was $525-$600 and was heavier. I went with the Wade Phillips rake that was comparable to the Rhino (maybe even more sturdy) for $395. The Phillips line is out of Alabama and are overbilt, at least the rakes and rotary mowers, and are much less expensive that the better known line.
