I got a 2004 BX2230 and was doing my mowing this morning when I noticed something odd about the steering feeling "dead" a couple of times. I stopped and checked it out to find that if I turn the steering wheels very slowly to the left, the hydraulics for the steering do not react until I turn the steering wheel faster, then the tires steer left. steering to the right is 100% normal. I was never able to locate a kubota service manual for this tractor, so I have little insight on this. Has anyone seen this before, and/ or know where I need to start looking?

Thanks in advance!!!

Update, I thought it was only doing it to the left, but it is both ways...Seal kit on order, but will work on finding the size of the o-ring to post up on this site.

Does this happen with heavy FEL use?????

Heavy FEL use would put more strain on the powersteering since there is now more load on the front wheels. FEL work almost always requires lots of turns also which could shorten the life of the steering cylinder seals.

Try to limit the amount of turning you do while sitting stationary. This also puts extra strain on components especially with a loaded FEL.
