This is what it says in the Junk Profile.

Maybe that has something to do with it.

Before you remove the engine shroud make sure your tractor has one.
I'm not sure all BX Models have the shroud.
If you remove one why not just leave it off for future filter changes?

( Don't know where the post went to that was discussing the removal of the oil filter with out the removal of the engine shroud. Here is the tool that I use to remove the oil filter without removing the engine shroud. )

There is no Shroud on my BX 23.

hand tighten the filter until it bottoms and then give it 1/4 to 1/2 turn by hand only. )

There have ben times that You can't give the filter that 1/4 to 1/2 turn in which case I have used a filter wrench .
No harm in it since 1/4 to 1/2 trun is still a 1/4 to 1/2 turn regardluss of how it's turned.

I don't take it off and leave it off, because the tractor would look very strange with it missing. You BX does have an engine shroud, as well as all other BX models have an engine shroud. Possibly you should stop posting little snippets and start posting questions to threads which you know nothing about the subject, so you will learn. The shroud is located on both sides and the front of the tractor, directly under the bonnet.
