Kubota BX 2370
I looking at buying my first Kubota next year. Can anyone tell me the big difference between a BX and a B with the approximate horsepower? Right now I have a 40 hp New Holland and I need to down size. Thanks

I did a side by side review a few years ago showing a B3200 beside a BX2660. The BX was 26hp and the B was 32.
The BX is a sub compact and the B is a compact. Not lots of difference weight wise.
Biggest factor is ground clearance.
I've owned 4 different Bs and 6 different BXs. I recently traded my latest B2620 FEL Backhoe 73 hours to a BX25D. This is my second BX25 and it's my favorite all around Kubota for maintaining my 5 acres of hillside home property and several acres of reasonable level flat rental property that has 6 septic tanks.
I use a Kubota F2680e 72" side discharge deck for mowing rental property and a Kubota F3080 4wd 72" rear discharge deck for mowing home hillside property.
BPFick also did a thorough review between the BX and Bs. He owned a BX then went to a B and then back to a BX. Again, the bottom line is mostly the ground clearance, not much difference in price or weight but the BXs are more maneuverable in tighter spaces.
Neither is better just different is the main point but the job requirements should be the deciding factor. I just traded a B2620 FEL BH to Barlows with 73 hours and he wants $18000 for it, a real deal and he delivers all over US. Kubota offers good financing rates for Kubota equipment bought from a Kubota dealer. Barlows will take other brands in on trade. I've traded with him many times and he sells for best price in US and gives fair trade value.
You can click my name and find some reviews I've done and when you see BPFick in them click his name for his reviews.

Like mentioned above not much differnce other than ground clearance, which was a big factor for me as I use mine for cultivating in my garden and could get a factory cab for the winter snow blowing .

They are both small tractors. To me, the BX is more like a very capable garden tractor on steroids. The B is more like a small utility tractor. If you seem them in person, it will be very apparent.

You did not say what you wanted to accomplish or implements to run with the down size move. Are you downsizing implements too? In any event, since you are coming from a 40hp New Holland, I would suggest seeing if a local Kubota dealer happens to have both a B and BX on the lot.

A transition is going on with the B models. Go to the Kubota Canada site and you can see the full transition outlined from current B models to the new B models. For some reason the Canadian site usually lists upcoming models or attachments ahhead of the US site.

In addition to what s219 states above, IMO there is a larger size spread between the smallest to largest B vs the smallest to largest BX.

I have had both a scut and cut, so your decision is do you want to downsize a little or a little more?

I've owned several Bs and BXs and one Grand L. I don't know what a garden tractor is and maybe others don't either or maybe it's just me so could you please explain what a garden tractor is and I can see how that relates to my BX25D that comes with a FEL and backhoe being more like. I don't even have 3ph arms for it so a bit more confused. It also weighs near what my what you refer to as a utility tractor B2620 FEL BH that I just got rid of. Guess my BX25D weighs more than the B2320 I owned. Please help and have you owned for your own use either a B or BX Tractor? Your explanation will be greatly appreciated. Love/appreciate hearing from people with actual hands on experience.

I bought a BX for the lower center of gravity. Five acres on a sidehill was a strong point in its favor. A B probably would have rolled once or twice by now, as I have had the BX close.

If I had flat land, I would have a B.
