That makes sense, and I read about that somewhere but forgot. I know that 2nd is too close to 1st in range, which was a complaint with the L48. I understand the L47 solved that in the range, and with the HST Plus gave the 6 speeds.
I went in to buy the one remaining L47 in FL on 12/30/2020, but it was sold. I like that throttle-up without speed on the loader option as well, and the creep mode. But I get by both using the HST pedal and throttle, and I creep with the bucket (gotten pretty darn good at it) respectively.
At the end of the day, I am glad I have the L48, it allows me to make all my mistakes on an older machine. And I do love the simplicity. But, if life goes well, I will be trading for an L47 someday. These compacts are brutes in the digger dept.
. I know many people with small Kubota tractors who are wholly satisfied, and I'm satisfied with my ZG222 zero turn. The green dealership is only about 30 minutes from home, but heck I could literally drive my tractor to the Kubota place if I need to, and jog home!
