Tires BX Rear tires..How do I fill them?

I just installed my LA211 Loader yesterday and I need to fill my rear tires with some weight.I've read here that some of you guys are use Windsheild Washer Fluid, But how the heck are you getting it in there?

There are more than one way to fill the tires, being small, I took one of the rear wheels off the tractor and let all the air out, then I broke loose from the rim, the side with the valve stem. I used anti freeze and water mix and poured it around the rim till it was almost full, leaving some space for air. If I remember correctly, they weigh about 148 lbs after filling so I had to manuver the jack to get the lug bolt holes aligned to reinstall. I know it's not recommended, but I also filled the fronts the same way. Hope this helps.

I tool mine off and took them to the local construction equipment dealer and had them fill the tires with rimguard (aka beetjuice).

I also had the fronts filled, I have a BX22 and it helped with the tractor being pulled around when using the backhoe by putting more weight on the loader bucket.

I like the idea just don't know how much fluid to buy for my rears

I unscrewed the center of the valve. Positioned the valve stem at 12:00. I then built a contraption out of a small (2 1/2 gallon) air tank. The air tank had an air line running out of the bottom of it to the tire. The top of the air tank I put on a quick connect air fitting. This fitting gets removed to fill the air tank with windshield washer fluid. Put the fitting back on and pressurize the tank with an air compressor. This forces the washer fluid into the tire. Once the tire is inflated, you have to take the air line off the tire to let the air out and then force more washer fluid in until the tire is full. Only fill to the vavle stem with the stem at 12:00. I think my BX2200 took 11 gallons. I attached a crude drawing so you can get an idea what I'm talking about. That's 11 gallons per rear tire. I didn't load my front tires.

The following thread has some pictures showing how one guy did it with a cheap drill pump...the extra stuff he had laying around that he used to make a manifold of type is really not needed...simple to do. Pump for a while, release built up air pressure...pump some more...

Here's how someone I know did it...


Did the same thing on my BX rear tires this summer. Doesn't take more than maybe 30 minutes per tire using the pump. Simple and pretty fast. Don't forget to jack the wheel off the ground...

Actually the thread I refer to above was a test of the process, using a lawn tractor. It later worked fine on a B2910, and most recently on a BX2200... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I thought between 12 and 13 gallons per tire. This was for the BX 2200 22x12-12 bar tires. BUT the chart at tractorsmart.com says 10 gallons per tire. I will have to look and see if I wrote it down somewhere.

Best to have a couple extra gallons on hand. I by mistake got some "Summer blend" mixed in with the winter stuff, and had to go get a couple gallons more of the winter stuff in order to complete filling the second tire.

I did fill to the valve stem, with the stem at 12 o'clock, and the tire jacked off the ground. Pressurized to 12 psi I think, before lowering the tire back down.

Chances are pretty good if you buy 24 gallons you will have several left over to use in your vehicles... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Wish my memory was better on the exact amount I used... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
