BX replacement seat

My wife finds the OEM seat on the BX2200 uncomfortable for her back condition. The vinyl has also begun to crack and deteriorate. A new one might make a good holiday gift.

So I'm looking for the Kubota brand improved seat for BX models, and maybe B models, that is supposed to be more comfortable and bolt right on. It seems like years ago there was discussion about the seat. A search of TBN didn't turn up any helpful hits.

Does anyone have a link to a thread or maybe the part number for the Kubota improved seat? If someone has an aftermarket seat that is comfortable that would be considered as well.

I changed my original seat out on my BX, but I'm afraid I didn't keep the part number. I just called the dealer and told him which tractor I had. He was familiar with the uncomfortable seat issue. I went in and picked up a new one and it was correct for my tractor. (I switched the seat myself so I didn't have to haul it in, and it was a fairly easy job.)

The BX2660 has a very comfortable seat that is adjustable. My guess is you would have to change out the bracket as well as the seat; could get a little pricey.

Another option to consider. On another thread discussing the new 70 series BX's coming out, people were pretty jazzed about the new seat. You might want to take a look at that and find out if that seat version is available, or how soon it will be...

Let us know what you find out as I have wanted to replace the seat on my bx2200 as well, but have never got around to researching it.

We just had a new seat put on our BX2200 and it cost $225, I haven't been on it since we got it back, so I can't say much about it; sure didn't like the one that came on it.

Yeah, I took it in to be fixed up after several years of abuse and neglect by a relative and told them to fix everything including a new seat. When the Service Manager found out the cost, he called to make sure I wanted it due to the high price. I didn't want to fool with aftermarket and just told them to put it on.

Did the BX2200 come with the same horrible seat that my BX24 had? That one sloped forward so badly that I had to brace myself to just stay on the tractor.

I noticed it the first time I got on the machine and complained to the dealer. Their initial response was "get used to it". I did a little research elsewhere and discovered that there was already a replacement seat available. Told my dealer's parts guy and he realized that he had them in stock. Charged me $25 for the new seat. A huge improvement.

$225 seems a little on the high side...

Same horrible seat. My dealer went out of business and I never found out about the improved seat until I "sold" the tractor. It sat out in the weather for four years, so the seat would have been shot anyway.

No argument on the high price, but this dealer has always treated me fair on the 4 tractors we bought there, so...

For $11000 I can get you the finest seat made installed on Kubotas. It even adjusts for body weight and has side arms. The greatest part is it also comes with the finest mower made by Kubota a F2680e 60" rear discharge deck and only 115 hours on it.

Some people on here have priced a factory seat for a BX2660 and it is over 800 dollars through Kubota.

One of my biggest gripes with my b2320 is the plastic trim/seam holding the vinyl to the frame if the seat.... It kept coming off until I finally put a few angry screws in it..... Not the prettiest solution but it stopped the issue.

^^Yep, my trim has several screws as well.

Update: Apparently, the Kubota seat in question is 6C200-45513. It runs about $300 now if you can find them.

In the past the seats were being replaced free or at a substantially reduced charge ($30 to $40). All you had to do was ask - Kubota didn't send out a TSB or recall of any sort.

Apparently the Kubota replacement seat campaign for the B/BX series is long over.Tractor Supply stores have a universal Kubota seat that looks OK for about $120.Worth a look!Fits many different bolt patterns.

I got a new seat for my bx2200 from Messick's last year, Big improvement and it looks better than tape. Messicks was great to deal with over the phone. I won't use my dealer thats 5 mile away. I do like the newest style seat though.

contact your dealer they should have an updated seat in stock at a discounted price. i have seen them sale anywhere from $75 to $150, but if kubota has discontinued that program they may cost more

I got the replacement BX seat right after buying my BX and while that was a great upgrade from the factory seat, I still found the ride to be a bit bumpy. So I decided to get the Michigan seat which has a built in suspension. This seat feels just about the same as the last one but with the added benefit and smoothing out the ride which is nice.

Still haven't got around to remounting the seat belts yet and I took off the arms as I didn't like them.

Had to modify the mounting as the bolts didn't like up with the old setup. It was pretty easy to do.

Also had to raise the front of the seat up slighly as it felt like I was going to slip forward. Used this scrap tube to do the trick but I need to replace it with something stronger as it already is bending a little.
