I am very happy with the cut but I am not a lawn perfectionest either. It cuts much better than my old 22hp Yardman did and uses half the fuel doing it. The 54" also has the ability to roll out on it's own wheels. As to turning radius; I never measured it but can say it will turn shorter than my old unit. Turning short with a lawn tractor will cause the front wheel to dig at the grass so I often do a forward/back deal when mowing around stuff. Remember that with the foot control hydro that this a very easy manuver.
