I need to put the 3 point hitch on a BX22, but don't have a copy of the instruction or parts manual. Does anyone have a copy that they could scan and email to me?
I need to know what to put into the center hole on the triangular piece that goes over the pins that the arms slip over. The part that I am referring to is the gray part at the bottom of this picture.

I also need to order some spare pins, etc.. Searched Tractor Supply for pins, but they didn't have anything small like is used on the BX.

Thanks for the help... Dusty

Hmmm..

I assume the pieces with the threaded adjusters and the loops on each end are the stabilizers??

I also assume the adjustable links with the U ends are the links that raise the 3pt arms?

That leaves the part you mentioned at the bottom of the pic as the piece the solid shaft goes thru after passing thru brackets on the tractor? Then the 3pt arms go on each end of that solid shaft?

What I can't comprehend is how the adjustable stabilizers with the loop ends fasten to the 3pt arms and to the 2 outer holes of the mentioned triangular bracket?

Seems there are parts missing??

Go to the Kubota website and click on "parts". you might have to use a dealer site such as "Messicks". Then work your way toward the part schematic for this machine and the 3pt assembly. Should be able to see a detailed pic of how it all fits and if you are missing something.

Good luck.

Looks like you are missing a bag of hardware??

It looks identical to my BX 25 hitch. You are missing a lot of small parts. The OM does not give good directions for installing the unit and it is somewhat baffling until you see one being assembled or taken one off. One of the poorly engineered part of the BXs (in my opinion). Pages 216, 217, and 218 of the parts manual show all the pieces. It does not tell you how to install. I have taken mine off many times and I could never assemble it from info in either the OM or PM. I have made a lot of modifications to mine to make it more installer friendly.

I would be like to see some of those modifications.

At the start I replaced the cotter pins with the removable hairline clips. Makes it way easier, sometimes 3 hands is a must. Once you remove the plate covering the lower link pin and move the arms and bushings to the center, the lower link pin can pushed left or right thru the hole, then pull it out. Took me a few times to figure it out. Reverse for installation, I think its harder to re-install than take off, thats where 3 hands come in.

Here it is installed on my BX22

After installation be careful not to back up and bury the lift arms in the ground!!! Really Really easy to do. The next option to get is the adjustable arms from Mark Hodges they make is so much easier to use

My BX25 came with one of those things, and I hate it with a passion! Taking it off in the spring is relatively easy, but putting it on in the fall is a real PITA. I can't believe that someone has not invented a better system, such as one where you don't have to take it off to put the backhoe on.

An evil, evil contraption. It is truly fortunate that I only have to take mine off and put it on once a year.

I bought those Hodges adjustable arms and they do not work with my Land Pride Rake or my Kubota mower bagger, so I don't use them at all. It's a much bigger PITA to switch between the standard adjustable arms and the Hodges adjustable arms every time I change implements, so now I just use the standard threaded ones. I'll sell you my Hodges adjustable arms cheap.

If I didn't already have 2 of Marks set ups I would. The one thing I did have to do to his was cut an angle where the pins attach. Maybe try that and see how they fit. Originally his were all right angles

This is what the adjustable arms on my BX look like. This is a picture from a very long time ago. It was a modification that was done when the tractor was new, by a very talented person.

Yes, I tried filing off an angle on the square ends on the adjustable arms, but they still interfere with my attachments. I think Mr. Hodges should make it known to his customers that this problem exists. Oh well, add it to the bucket of stuff I regret ever buying.

There is a short pin that goes into the center hole. Pin is larger diameter on the bottom. Small diameter end goes into the hole from below and is held in place with a cotter pin. The pin prevents the whole bracket from sliding back off of the two fixed rods on the tractor.

Hmmm, I've had Mark's adjustable arms for a while now and love them. I don't have the experience or implement range of some of the folks here, but they work quite well with my tiller, BB, and hog.

I think the design has changed at some point along the line.

have you contacted Mark he is a great guy and sure he would take care of problem.
I've have had mine for 2 years with no problems on any of my implements.

Mine are the same as yours. Yes I contacted Mark and he in fact acknowledged that others have had similar difficulties with the Landpride rake. He cautioned me not to file too much from the arm but other than that he had nothing else to offer. The pic shows the issue...

Might you have the diameter of the larger end of the pin? Every dealer that I contacted that is local to me, doesn't stock it, and they want $10 - $15 minimum order fee to order it in. I can uses a friends lathe and cut one in about 15 minutes, if I know the diameter of the large and small end.

Thanks

Dusty it should be easy to figure it out.
Small end of pin- Measure the hole in the bracket, make a wee but smaller. Measure bracket thickness and drill cotter pin hole a little above.
Larger end of pin- place rod in bracket, measure from hole in bracket to rod. They dont have to touch but get it pretty close and like at least half the depth of the rod. It just keeps the bracket from jumping off the rod.
