BX22 air filter bracket broken again

This is the fourth time it has broken, and I'm getting tired of taking it off and rewelding it. Each time it breaks, it breaks in another spot. Has anybody had any problems with this issue before?

yes it is mentioned awhile ago. i too welded it a couple of times. then i put two large hose clamps on it. problem solved. hope this helps

try using wire ties

You would think that they would of learned by the problems that they had on that bracket, but they went back to that style on the BX2660. Mine broke and when the dealer saw it that was the comment that he told me.

I replaced mine twice on my BX22. Then when I was checking under the hood of my friends BX23 I saw he had wrapped a shorter bungie cord around his when it broke. Mines been bungied for two years now... no rattle.

Mine on the BX2200 is broken. The mass of the filter housing is so very low that I came to the conclusion that the bracket was likely breaking itself. What I mean is...if one simply put the bracket on with no filter housing in it, it would break all by itself, due to it's own weight being rocked violently back and forth.

I like the pull tie idea, also I like the short bungee idea, and I will use these on mine.

I have a BX 23, and have had no breakage issues yet. But I never set the throttle low enough so that the engine shakes violently, which seems to only happen at low RPM...

I had my BX2200 for five years until I sold it yesterday after replacing it with a BX2660 and the bracket broke while I was prepping it for delivery. Like a previous poster, I rarely ran it at low RPM where all the shaking occurs.

As LBrown suggested, my bracket broke two years ago and I replaced it with two heavy duty wire ties...they are still holding strong. If they break, I'll just replace them with another set of $.89 ties. I thought that the bracket Kubota came up with was way over engineered and far more expensive to replace than I was willing to pay. Dyer, retired

Here ya go. Pictures of the bracket that I had replaced that broke. The gold part on thr outside broke off close to the gray mounting point. letting the air filter assembly rattle around.

IMO that is a much better bracket design than the older BX's. Looks beefy and doesn't have tension on it.

If that works, I bet bungee cords would be just fine on the older machines. I am on my 3rd BX23 (strap-style) bracket.

I was only going by the comment that the dealer made to me that it appears to be the BX2200 problem all over again. the bracket broke before the first oil clange was needed.

I broke mine several times before i modifyed it,and its held ever since.The problem is half the aircleaner is hooked solid to the tractor[intake] and the other is on a vibrating motor-stupid design.
If you look at my pic ,i welded up a simple iron assembly.One end hooks to a front bolt that holds the cowling on,the other end ,to the rear bolt that holds it on .The airfilter,is bolted solid to it ,so its not attached to the engine.You can whip up this easily in an hour,with no drilling or nothing on the tractor.Problem will be solved forever.

The new BX air filter brackets are much stronger,I have replaced several on BX tractors and have not had any complaints and don't think they are that expensive.

Cost isn't an issue. This is the laterst model, new tractor and still under warranty. Just would prefer to have things work properly and not have to perform quality control and actually use warranty for repairs. I hope that the next time is the charm......

I just replaced one for a friend and the bracket was a new and improved model. The mount that bolts on to the engine is thicker and the strap is different.

I am on my second one for my BX23, but mine is a 2004 model, Is it still happening on the brandy new ones?
