How important is postion control? Dealer says you can do it on the BX just not accurately or repeatably. Need to maintain a small minibike flat track, smooth out ruts, level, etc... Also, I need to remove/move basketball size rocks and smaller a lot. Will the BX do it?? I'm leaning BX but need a push. Also about a 1-2 acres to cut, up a down hills. About 1-2 mi. of wooded trail maintenance, etc.... Thanks in advance. First real tractor.

Either will do the job you have described, with the 2410 probably able to do them a bit quicker. You need to consider whether the extra size of the 2410 will work against you though. Sometimes larger is not necessarily better. The BX has a definate advantage on hills due to it's lower center of gravity, and it has other advantages as well, especially the MMM mower. Sounds to me as if the BX will do the job just fine, but if you want bigger, the 2410 is a fine machine too....

yeah, you can bump the 3-point lever but it is kinda diffucult to get exactly what you want. PC is way better. I do not see though from your description why that might be absolutely needed. Now the trail thing? what is it with these trails you guys all have anyway. I have seen trails a goat could not walk much less a tractor so I cannot advise you. The BX has somewhat lower ground clearence than the 2410 so that could be a problem on your trails?--maybe not. The BX on the other hand could manuver better in places and get under things better. Both pull small discs, boxblades, back blades, harrows, chain harrows, spreaders, rakes etc. J

Thanks for the replies so far. My trails were originally made for and by a tree skidder. Since then, I've made them less muddy, stumped them, cleared them (for a pick-up), etc... My kids and I used them almost everyday, since we don't live in a development, it's a great place to ride bikes, dirtbikes, or just walk them with the dog. Unfortunatly they require constant work, fallen trees, stump/roots showing, muddy, etc.... and of course new trails. Oh yeah, I also have single track trails that were made for and by an enduro racing motorcycle, that are hard to walk on, goat or not (tractor doesn't need to go there). Sounds like BX, although now the price thing, dealer says 18 w/60MMM?? sounds high per this site.?

ChrisNJ,

Have you considered going with a used tractor and FEL? I got mine, it was only 2 years old, used for a little more than 12k. I have seen several B2400s and B2100s with Front End Loaders for less than 14k in various parts of Michigan.

Try going to www.fastline.com
1) Click the state you live in: Michigan
2) In the Manufacturer field, Pick the manufacturer: Kubota
3) Then in the model field, type the model eg. b2400.

For the above data, in Michigan, I found nothing. But I found about 6 of them over the entire subscription listing.

I think your price is high. I have seen posts in the mid 16s for a BX22 with the MMM. I talked to a dealer near here that told me they ran between 14, 500 and 15 without the mower, so add on $1600-1800 for the mower and thats the mid 16s that some are posting that they got as well.

I'm looking at an ad for a BX2200 with a FEL and a 60"MMM $12,690. Foote Tractor Novi, MI (248)348-3444

I debated same thing for several months. I went with the 2410, just for the extra capacities. I went with the 2410 because it was the smallest size for a backhoe, now that is no longer true. I guess I still would have gone with the 2410 if I had to do all over again. But I think the 22 would do all that I want it to.

Chris ,
Are you in NJ also? If so, what dealer did you get a quote from?

Frank, I'd rather not say other than Northern NJ, wouldn't want him to get pissed at me if I did end up buying there. Anyway, do you know something I don't or a dealer that can help, I've gotten 2 prices, one 18, one 17,800. Seems way high compared to what's on this board. I am willing to pay a fair price, but these seem the highest around. I told him about other prices and he didn't seem to care, guess he knows his market (or thinks he does) and will hold out for high bidders. ??????? I am worried though, that if I buy elsewhere, and need help, the lack of service I would get from him, and rightly so.
