I own a
bx22 and my driveway is pretty steep I have tried going up the hill in high gear and the tractor stopped. So I had to apply the break and put it in low range. The breaks don't seem too strong. it wants to roll backwards unless I really apply a lot of pressure on the break.
david43a,
Last week my
bx2200 was delivered on one of those tilt bed car carriers. The guy tilted the bed back, while parked on my driveway, which is sloped down.
"He says boy that's steep! you want to take it off?" I say "Rather you take it off. That way if something goes wrong, you wrecked it and I'll wait for another one... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif"
All the chains are off. He reaches up from the ground, puts it in neutral and starts it. It is sitting there in neutral on a REAL steep angle. Then he climbs up, puts it in gear and unlocks the parking brake and down he comes smooth as silk.
Mabye the extra weight of the backhoe and loader on your
bx22 makes a difference... Just wanted to let you know how well the brakes work on my 2200 and perhaps you should have yours checked. I should think they would work pretty well with or without the extra weight...
