Rest in Peace
Jon, I'd hate to see you disappointed, but I've bored a number of holes with a couple of different augers on tractors, and watched some others done, but I've never seen a 3-point hitch type on a tractor that would go more than 3' at the most. However, you can buy extensions for the auger shaft and do what you want to do; you just need to be aware of the fact that you'll have to bore the hole 30-36", stop with the auger in the hole, disconnect it from the head, raise the head with the 3-point, put the extension(s) on, drill on to the depth you want, stop again to remove the extension, and then hook up the auger again to lift it out of the hole before going to the next one. Now, in my opinion, that beats using the old manual tools that I have, but it does make for fairly slow progress.
