BX2200 vs B7500

I went thru the same situation of not knowing which one to get. It really depends on your needs. The BX series has a lot of good abilities, but it could not handle the types of things I wanted to do. I bought my 2001 B7500hst mainly because of the the extra ground clearance. I have a FEL, MMM, Rototiller, Snowblower and have not been in a situation yet where it could not handle the work. I think most people are correct when they say the BX series is a beefed up garden tractor, maybe more than that. The B7500HST is really a decent sized tractor. The BX series is positioned in the market between garden tractors and regular tractors. The best thing to do is to try both on a few of the regular chores you will end up doing with the tractor.

While I can't comment about the 7500, I can tell you that the BX2200 is very maneuverable in close with buildings when tilling, box scraping and moving dirt with the FEL. I've put on 20 hours for a large landscaping project at our new church during this past two weeks. The BX has been able to do close in and wide open maneuvers where a Case skid steer loader, super steer NH TC35 and JD 430 GT with tiller haven't. It doesn't have the capacity of the larger machines but it has an ability to do many large and small projects well with just one machine. I've moved tons of dirt; ripped, leveled and tilled 10,000 square feet and dug out many large rocks. Not once did the tractor lack engine power, the pump is the limiting factor on heavy loads but that just requires backing up from the dirt pile before lifting the full FEL. Traction has been adequate with the fluid filled ag tires. All this and yet the tractor can be converted back to a very good mowing machine when needed. The machine is also easy to transport on the trailer. With its short wheel base, I'm able to transport the BX with FEL, box sraper, and tiller on an 18 foot utility trailer, with room to spare for other tools.
I had a Bolens 20 horse power GTX with cat 1 3 pt, tiller, front blade and 48 in mower for 9 years and tried landscaping with it. Trust me, the BX is miles ahead of that machine. So if you decide on the BX, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy the process and then come over to owning and operating a Kubota!
Huskerfan: BX2200 (with tiny tach!) , FEL, grill guard, ag tires with fluid, Kuhn 50 inch EL32 tiller, Woods GB48 inch box scraper and 60 inch MMM.

am kinda late to this thread but for what it is worth i would go with the 7500. i have a b2400 and i wish at times it had more omph on the hydraulics. the engine never lags , just so much u can lift and pull with that size machine. don't beleiveit is design failure, just the designers know what type of lifting and pulling should be done with any size machine.; so i think they build the hydraulics to not overburden the tractor. and i can go about anywhere with it, not to big for my needs. my ADVICE? get the bigger machine.

Frank, I believe you're right about the built-in limitations on the hydraulics. My 7500 has enough guts for what I should be doing with it. Yesterday a group of us spent the day doing a major cleanup on a farm that's going to be sold soon. One of the things we did was remove a few small trees in an unused barnyard. They were growing up through cracks in some old concrete. One of them that I worked on had a trunk about 5" in diameter and wouldn't pull straight out, so I pushed it over and wrestled with it using the FEL. When it was leaning almost parallel with the ground, I hooked up pretty well with a tooth near the left side of the FEL. When I raised the bucket, it picked the right rear off the ground fairly easily. The rear 12.00-16.5 R4's each have close to 100# of antifreeze, and I had an old RFM hanging on the back for ballast.....................chim

The BX tractors have the power but they are lighter in weight which can be good or bad depending on what you are doing. Also the hydraulics are also less powerful. It all depends on your needs!

Gunfighter, what are you talking about. The engine in the BX is used in other Kubota tractors including the B1700 which was the same frame size as the current Kubota 2410 and B7500. What you may be missing here is that Kubota reverse mounted the engine so that the front of the tractor can be very short, the battery is behind the radiator and the radiator is under the steering wheel which puts all the hot air exhausted to the front and not on to the operator. The Kubota D905 is a old engine in the Kubota lineup and when used in the BX provides plenty of muscle and of course operates like most any other Kubota engine--just eliminating urban legends here. The local dealer here pointed me at the frame of the BX series as the main diff between them and the B series. If you look at the BX manual and what is recommended and not recommended as proper use of the machine (what voids the warrantee) what you find is that the frame makes the machine for some tasks but limits many uses. I would vote for the B7500, but to each his own.

Yeah, I know what you mean exactly, since I own both a 2200m and a 2410 I can say I agree, the BX is pound for pound more tractor with a stiffer frame for it's size and weight. Incidently, the BX is only a few lbs lighter than the 7500/2410, bare machine. Good luck. J

CHIM: i have done that many times, really increases the pucker factor/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif it happens so fast. but most of the time it is because i am not into the work straight on or i have a one wheel up higher than the other, just goes to prove the engineers know more than i do, if the hydraulics were stronger i would be in more trouble faster.

I chose the B7500 because I felt since it was a bigger tractor it would be more stable on hills. You really have to decide what jobs you want to do with it and then as everybody says try to move up to the next bigger size
