Hey Nuru,

What's this comment?

Ah Yes, the The BX placed on jackstands works real well with posthole diggers and other implements that may require more height than the BX offers normally, I have heard

You're not trying to create a market for the jackstands you have had your 4100 up on are you? We all know about the problems the 4x00 tractors had when they first hit the market. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

(It helps by the way if you add one of the little faces before you take shots.)

Hmmm, low clearance and "some" small post hole diggers, Ok

RPM, That wasn't a shot, /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif, I just summarized one thing that seemed to be mentioned in BX posts /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif. That is not a downer "low CG", that is a benefit. Hell I feel like I am riding on stilts with the 4100. Seems like you guys are a little sensitive about that subject. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

I just borrowed a buddies b2410 to drill 75 holes. The auger dragged the whole time by about 1-2". It happened to be soft dirt so it didn't matter. We put a strap on it to put the tractor on-off the trailer to hold it up and out of the way. Some PHD's are just larger than others I guess.

Traded my BX2200 for a 455 last year. It was the best move for my useage. Not everybody wants a "little tugger" tractor like the BX. There are three BXs (two 2000's and one 2001) for sale this week in the ag shoppers guide and one old JD 420. I liked my BX but I didn't need a really heavy 4WD large garden tractor that ALMOST does what a compact tractor does. The BX is far less nimble than my 455 but with lots of traction from weight and low center of gravity. I spend a lot of time mowing, mowing, mowing, pulling a cart, broadcast spreading, spraying, pushing snow with the front blade and scraping/grading with a Vassar 3point hitch rear blade. I have the best of all worlds for me with the 455. I'm sure Three Crows and the BX rowdies will say that you can do better grading and scraping with the BX, which true because of the 4WD, but for no other reason. I know. I've owned them both. I (and maybe you) only grade dirt or move mulch a few times each year. If you do it more often then you should step up to an L7500 or JD 4100 etc. You will thank me two or three years from now. The 455 is better at a lot of things related to good turf care (the best designed deck in the class), maintenance, service, and holding value (don't waste your time, K-boys--the reality for large GTs and LTs is different than your rationalization of "conditions in my area"). The steering on the BX is more sluggish (try them side-by-side) and the cut from the mower was less consistent with the BX, probably because its heavier. The three point hitch specs are almost identical but Kubota lets you use the bigger pins which are found on implements that are meant for compact and utility tractors (many too big for the BX). The turning radius is greater on the BX and when the ground is wet its better to have a litttle less weight on the hubs if you have a nice lawn and run turfs. There's just too much weight on the BX for the wheelbase and width, which is almost identical to the 400 series, at least within a few inches. If you have less than two acres, you don't need either one. If you are doing serious loader work or want to use most attachments, you need something more than either one. All the BX hounds lurk around here waiting for guys like you to ask about the comparisons between the two lines. You don't really see that with users of the CUTs. They also attack anybody who likes something different than the BX which usually comes off as a bit too defensive to be sincere and makes me wonder why they all feel they have to impose (the guys in high school who weren't gettin' any were the ones who were braggin and flirtin, remember?). Kubota and JD fans will always tell you that there is no comparison and on that fact they are both correct--they are different tractors. Undoubtably I have made a bad decision in somebody's eyes who feels a need to justify their own decision. I don't care if they are obsessed with telling everybody that their tractor is better than another. It's a good tractor but it wasn't for me and it may not be for you. Personally, I think the tougher decision is whether to get a compact tractor or a BX/445 sized tractor. If you don't need the extra expense/size/weight/features of the CUTs, it's all about what you spend the most time doing. There are a lot of guys using BXs on this board who end up getting a compact utility because they either get a taste of the capablilities of a true CUT, or because they really needed one in the first place and underbought. Most of the people I know with a JD 4XX spend their time putting hours on their tractor or talking about their tractors and usage with other JD owners. I think its a bit unhealthy to skulk around waiting for someone to say something negative about "your" tractor with a spec sheet on the desk in front of you.

Can't wait to read about all my mistakes in this post and in my decision making process.
