( I don't know if the BX2230 is the same, but on my BX22 there is an unused four wired plug inside the battery compartment. One of the wires is a ground (black), one is powered all the time (don't remember color) and one is powered when the ignition switch is on (red with black stripe). I haven't figured out the fourth wire yet (white). If you have such a plug, I think you could connect to the wire which is powered when the ignition switch is on. )

This would also work for adding lights on the ROPES would it not?

Yes, the red wire with the black stripe would work for adding lights to the ROPS or elsewhere. It's especially handy if you want to mount the light switch or a 12 volt power socket on the dash.

My Kubota outfit consisting of diesel GR2110, mower deck and Kubota snowblower came with dealer-installed accessories. the GB2513 as well as the chute rotator are, both, pulled off directly from the battery. So, even with the tractor ignition switch OFF these accessories CAN be operated.

As to "battery-drain due to stuck motor": this is impossible if the right switches are used. Recommended switches, both for rotator and deflector, are the spring-loaded type where the operator holds the switch up or down to activite the circuit. The switch returns to OFF position when released. The spring within these switches is pretty strong. I have never experienced any problems with the way the (non-relay) circuit is hooked up to battery posts.

btw: I have a used GB2513 in good operating condition - if anyone is interested.
