BX23 Attachment questions and advice wanted.

No I built a custom 26 foot dual axle trailer for my honda pilot dune buggys I am going to use that for my bx-23

I don't have a trailer for it yet, although I'm considering buying a tandem axle-dumping trailer to carry the BX in and give me more versatility with respect to hauling and dumping dirt and carrying other stuff around. I believe a 5' X 10' would be a good size box for my purposes, although I don't have the Tractor yet to measure it. Perhaps it needs to be longer?

Can anybody tell me what the BX 23 measures from the end of bucket to the furthest point on the hoe when both are down? How small a box can I get away with I wonder?

Another question that came to mind was when I looked at the 42" Woods brush hog in person. Very nice looking rigs by the way, but compared to the tractor it looks BIG. Can anyone tell me how much lift I'm going to get with the "limited" Cat 1 hitch? I'm wondering if I'm going to have issues loading it on a trailer with the brush hog mounted if I can’t get it high enough off the ground. Thanks!

When I got my BX2230 delivered, it was on a 16' trailer with the Woods 42" mower. It fit very nicely, and it was probably a foot or two longer with the mower than yours will be with the hoe. I'd say 16' minimum.

You will be able to raise the mower deck high enough that the wheel on the back rotates with a couple inches of room underneath. Rest assured that the 42" deck is well suited to the BX.

This is a new one on me as I didn't know a five footer was available.
When you compare the 5 footer with a 4 footer you also have to consider weight, lift capacity & stability.
If you're already at the lift capacity with a loaded 4' bucket you won't be able to lift a loaded 5 footer.
Since a loaded 5' foot bucket is heavier than the 4 footer it will require heavier ballast / counter balance

It looks like about 6" lift under the mower deck, which seems to be pretty decent clearance all things considered. Depending on how steep the ramps are for the trailer I might have to load with the trailer on a slope? Time will tell I guess.

1 wouldn't want my tires loaded as it makes the tractor to heavy with the FEL and BH attached.
I see no object in draggling around the excessive weight of loaded tires along with the weight of the FEL and the BH.
I certainly don't want the front tires loaded as a filled FEL puts more then enough weight and strain on the front axle
2*Most here say a FEL don't work to well for that so a 5 foot bucket won't help if that's the case.
I don't know as the 2 biggest snows we got last winter were only 1.5 to 2 inches deep so I never really got to try the FEL out for snow removal.
I didn't know a 5 footer was available. Another thing you have to Consider with the larger bucket is lift capacity, weight and stability.
If you have reached the lift capacity with the 4 footer you won't be able to lift a loaded 5 footer.
The 5 footer will also require more / heavier counter weight / ballast
3*I keep one on the back of my 1967 Bolens just for this purpose. It's so much easier to till the dirt up before you spread it than it is after you spread it and it makes a better job out of it.
4*I got the 0% financing but had to put down 10%. Wish I could have gotten the zero down too then I would have had another $1500 in my investments earning the return.
You can't beat Kubotas financing as there's nothing like earning a return on someone else's money.
5*Probably a lot more than you think you have as once you get it you'll find all kinds of things to do with it that you never thought of before.
I've got 312 hours on mine and haven't gotten everything done with it yet.
6*Not me as I prefer Big things in small packages. That's what I found out the BX23 was for me.
I wanted the B 2410 till I went to the dealer to price it out.
That's when I discovered the BX23 So I priced them both out which lead to a 3 month battle in my mind trying to decide which one I wanted.
The BX23 won out But I would still take a B2410 and a BX 1500 to go with it but not as a replacement of the BX23.
7*The BH was what sold me as well. You can't get a new TLB any cheeper than the BX23 or the Massy 2310.
8*I can because I measured mine.
14' 10'' I just round that off to 15 feet even. Put a set of 36'' forks on it and you're looking at 18 feet which is about as long as my Datsun and Toyota and Dodge D50 pick ups and nearly the same weight.
The BX 23 is certainly no garden tractor on steroids as I've never seen a garden tractor as big and heavy as my trucks.

I am looking for a trailer too for my 23 every thing is wide till I got to this one it looks like its made for te bx23 measured and 12' looked a little close after I added 3point mower and the loader and some wiggle room to balance load on trailer all the others I found were wider than I wanted.

1*At only 14' long it's not. I wouldn't go with anything less than 16' long.

Why a dump trailer?
You could buy 2 or 3 nice 16' long tilt bed trailers for the 7000 price of this trailer.
If you have a 3/4 ton pick up take the money you save by getting a 16' tilt bed trailer and put a dump bed liner in the truck.
You can also unload the trailer with your tractor and FEL.

Hmmm,

Sounds like I might need a larger dump trailer than I thought, at least with respect to the one I'd need for hauling the BX. It's getting away from the "compact" theme of the BX too, and I was hoping not to spend another 6 or 7K.

Can you expand on the 16' tilt bed trailer a little. Why a tilt bed if I'm not going to use it for dumping? Can you post a link to a good manufacturer's site? Any more info appreciated. Thanks,

1*A 16 foot non dumping trailer would only run you about 1/3 to 1/2 of this.
Why are you wanting a dump type trailer?
If you need something to dump with and already have a pick up truck you can put a dump bed on it for far less than 6 or 7 thousand $.
2*A tilt bed isn't for dumping it's to eliminate having to use ramps to load the tractor onto the trailer. However you can still put ramps up to it so you can unload dirt gravel etc with the FEL on a tractor.
If a tilt bed was for dumping why pay 2 or 3 times as much for a dump trailer?
3*Do a search on trailers. There are many threads on trailers and post galore on this board.

i have an avalanch to tow with no pickup and I wanted a narrower bed with to minimize the chance of overloading truck only 1/2 ton. I borrowed and wheel over 14' x 8' dump bed and I could just bearly reach over the side to dump with my 23. I had to dump load in back up a little curl bucket down along inside of bed and drive forward to get dirt to middle of trailer and the bed was about 3' off ground so loading tractor in was a real chore with out ramps I had to find a hill and back up to it and drive tractor in and tie down.

I think this trailer hunt is going to require more thought and research. I have a friend with a car trailer that no doubt will work for the BX for the limited hauling I'll need to do before winter sets in.

By next spring my needs/thoughts about what I need might be different anyway. Money priorities always have a way of changing purchasing plans too, so I'll just skip the whole must have a trailer idea for now.
