Kubota BX2360
Hi All,

I just received my new BX2360 about a week ago (yes I'll be posting pictures soon :)). I have just over 5 hours on it now (it's been very wet around here lately) with about 30 minutes of that in 4 wheel drive. It hasn't been run hard at all yet. I am concerned about possible damage to my front axle. Today I checked the front axle lube level for the first time since I got the machine and found the level very low. There is no evidence of any leakage so it appears to have come from my dealer like that. I drained it and got just under 2 quarts out. It looks good, maybe a slight gray/black but still quite clear with no metal particulate. Should I get in touch with my dealer and be worried about this or just refill (manual says it takes 5 quarts) and be happy? Thanks

I'd fill it, and let him know it was low when you got it also.

I had something similar happen to me, but with a different tractor. I'd recommend you fill it, run the tractor for a few hours, then check the level again.

The Kubota's seem to be very slow allowing the fluid to go into the bevel gears at the ends of the front axle for some reason. Yours may have a pair of vent plugs on top of the bevel gears.

Mine come filled from the dealer. After driving for a few weeks then they show low and sometimes so low they don't read on the dip stick. Less than a quart fills them. I think you should have posted here before you took your actions and may have saved you alot of work and mental anguish,:) This is a common issue, note not a common problem but a common issue.

I just received a new BX2360 yesterday.I mentioned to the dealer about the front axle fluid level being low on a lot of the BX tractors;I previously had the same situation on a BX25.He told me they had checked it twice and it was topped up.Later I pulled the dipstick out and the fluid was barely showing. The tractor had 0.5 hours on it.I topped it up and will check it again until it remains full.Seems to be a common issue with new Kubotas.

When my 2360 was delivered I checked the engine, axle and the hydro. They where all low. The hydro was a quart low and the axle about a half quart low. Anyone getting a new Kubota don't trust that the dealer has everything covered. Make these checks right away. Seems the dealer is only paid for a small amount of time to setup a new unit and they cut some corners to make up for it. When I complained to my dealer they gave me some motor and hydro oil.

I have a 2002 Kubota L3710, its had front seal issues since 2003. Been to the dealer and repaired 3 times, should go a 4th time. Therefore the axle fluid has been low time to time. I would not worry about it. Fill it up and check it maybe once or twice a month, like the transmission fluid level. The Kubota front axles are overbuilt anyways, you won't have any trouble. Above all, only use 2wd on pavement, using 4wd is the fastest way to wreck a front axle. Have fun with your new toy!

Thanks for the replies. My plan had been to drain and refill with Mobil 1 75W-90 synthetic gear lube at around 10-15 hours anyway. Just finished that so I should be set. I will make my dealer aware however. Thanks again and I'll go have fun with my new toy :)

Just bought my BX25 a week ago used with 30 hr. I have checked the fluid level in the front axle and it is low also. Not even close to the dipstick. I can see fluid with a flashlight.
I was going to play some today but decided I would wait until I have full fluid.

Instead I raised the bucket and set down and started breaking up a 50 lb bag of coal in the bucket into fifty cent size pieces for my steam locomotive. The bucket kept the pieces from flying all over the place and now has a good bit of coal dust in it now.
