JD 4700, Kubota BX2370-1, Kubota RTV1140CPX, Kubota F3060, Club Car Precedent
Thinking once again about consolidating and upgrading. I have received two quotes for a BX2370-1 with:
-loader w/bucket & quick tach pallet fork
-60" mid-mount mower
-60" hydraulic front blade (frame mount, NOT loader-mounted)

I would be trading
'99 JD 425 w/ 54" mower, power flow bagger, 54" hydraulic front blade, weights and chains. ~900 hrs
'66 IH Cub Lo-Boy w/ 60" IH mower, 54" IH blade, weights and chains.

Dealer "A"
BX2370-1 with above equipment, $19900
Trade in JD -$3500, IH -$2000
Total due $14400
Dealer "A" mentioned Kubota 500 off rebate, bringing final price to $13900

Dealer "B"
BX2370-1 with above equipment, $17820
Trade in JD -$1425, IH -$950
Total due $15445
Dealer "B" mentioned Kubota 1500 off rebate, bringing final price to $13945

Interested on your thoughts on these two prices and how they got to them.

FYI, MSRP from Kubota site is $20284 for the above.

Scratching my head on Dealer "A's" deal. May have to think about it some more. His discounted price (slightly less than 2% off MSRP) is higher than I would expect but he is offering a greater trade-in value for your other equipment. This type of deal is exactly how car dealers typically work. Makes you think you're getting good deal. I'm not sure about the $500 rebate. Bottom line price does not seem to far out of line from my recent shopping experience.

The Dealer "B" pricing is more in line with what I found. His starting price is roughly 12.5% off MSRP, which is not too shabby. I think his offers for your trades are somewhat reasonable (I may be wrong here). The $1500 rebate is for qualifying implements (of which you seem to have). Again, the bottom line price does not seem too far out of line from what I recently experienced.

Since the bottom line on both deals are so close I think that you may want to consider which dealer you wish to continue doing business with. Go with the one that you feel will give you better service when it is needed, be it repairs or parts. I know I can find parts cheaper on the Internet, but I like to support our local businesses.

I was informed by JOHNTHOMAS on this site that one could reasonably expect roughly a 14% discount off MSRP. I used that knowledge to my advantage and got, what I consider, a fair deal for my B2320 with 60" MMM. My dealer sweetened the deal by throwing in a Deluxe Canopy.

Good luck in your decision! Either way, you're going to end up with a nice machine.

Dealer "A" is putting his profit in your trade in's. He's going to have nothing in them, so they will be his profit when he sells them.

Dealer "B" is still having some profit in the trades, and some in the machine itself.

Can't help with any of the trade in offers but can tell you what a quote was in mid missouri about 3 months ago. Kubota 2370 with loader and mid mount 60" mower for $13,500 with 0% int for 60 months out the door.

I suppose I would prefer "dealer A" as it is the closest. I have bought things from them in the past but have never used their service.

Going off of the 13.5 number provided above, +1k for the forks and QA and +2k for the plow would bring it to 16.5k. Minus 3.5 and 2k for trades brings final price to 11k. Do I dare try offering that?

Really all that matters is the number you have to write the cheque for. All the rest is smoke and mirrors.
Trade in values don,t really mean much.
And yes, I would not be afraid to offer whatever you think is fair.
It,s your cash, and a buyers market.

Kubota no longer offers the BX2370. (Except Dealer Inventory) The quotes you posted were for a BX2370-1. So what you must determine is if the 13.5 price was for a BX2370 or the new BX2370-1. The 13.5 price may have been a dealer clearing out old stock to make room for the new.

Very good point, Gator6x4. When I was looking at the machines at the dealer, "dealer A" had both in stock. He said the -1 was about $200 more (which is inc. in the quote above).

The price I mentioned above was for a 2370. I wanted a bx2670-1 but the dealer didn't have any. All he had was the bx2670, but told me there where no price difference between the two. For what it's worth!

Update, additional quote obtained:

Dealer "C"
BX2370-1 with above equipment, $17250
Trade in JD -$2500, IH -$2000
Total due $12550
Dealer "C" mentioned kubota 1500 off rebate, bringing final price to $11050

I called dealer "A" regarding his only offering $500 off and he claimed it was the only promotion offered right now. I called Kubota to check on this and they said it is up to the dealers to decide what promotions to offer. Not sure I understand this, but.

I have it narrowed down to dealer "A" and "C" at this point. Dealer "B" is too far away for comfort.

Next step will be seeing what dealer "A" will do on the price. I would pay a few hundred extra to go with dealer "A" due to past positive experiences, but not $2850.

Since dealer "C" is out of state (44 miles away), how is sales tax handled?
Is it reasonable on either deal to negotiate a brush guard and filled tires into the price?
