BX24 blowing hydraulic filters

Would you care to explain how the problem is the loader valve?
It's either a hose hooked up wrong or it's bypassing inside the valve and sending straight pressure into the return and blowing the filter

@rScotty: Sorry for the slight thread hijack, but can the steering relief valve be in the steering valve? I have looked at the hydraulic schematics and the workshop manual for my 2022 Massey Ferguson GC1723EB and cannot find a separate relief valve for the priority (dividing) valve within the housing that MF refers to as "the control valve", which also contains the valve for the 3-point. There is only one relief valve within it and that is set for 1920psi.

Thanks, Dick
Yes the relief is inside the steering gear box

When you disconnected the backhoe what did you do with the hydraulic hoses? Did you connect them together?

Years ago, when I first got my tractor, I finally disconnected the BH to install the arms/3 point equipment. There are two hoses I disconnect and loop the two fittings on the tractor to complete the circuit. The quick connect felt and looked like it seated but when I rechecked the connector again, I realized the circuit was not complete/connected and this could have caused problems if I started the tractor.

No problem. PM me the hydraulic schematic or open another thread & we can discuss that Massey GC. But the answer is yes, the steering relief valve can be anywhere you can run a pipe & fitting to. Combination diverter & relief valves are common and operationally interchangeable. Here's an example of a popular tractor combination valve:

What you are saying is 100% correct if the BX had a return filter. The only factory filter on a BX is in the charge circuit not the implement circuit.

Here is Dicktill thread....

Thanks WranglerX. I suggest we start a separate thread for Dicktill's MF GC problem. Can you figure out how to do that & get it going. Maybe we just open a subject and copy these posts few GC posts

I hope this thread can stay focused on the BX and its specific filter/over pressure problem.
