I have 'em too. If my Kubota accelerated out of control, I might hit 9mph...:ashamed:

Well, I just got off the phone with the shop, and it's looking like they have to tear the entire rear end down. He said it will be 2 to 2 1/2 weeks before they get parts ordered and in stock once they figure out what they need. That really sucks, I've got a couple jobs waiting for it.

On the plus side, they finally agreed to replace my hour meter that hasn't worked right since I bought the tractor.

Anyone want to ship their 'bota to Utah for a vacation? Free room and board...

Free room and board? sounds cool. The last time I went to utah, it gave me an excuse to buy the BX in the first place since my wife blew up the engine in a cheapo engine while I was there on business trip. Hmm gas expenses? It's a long drive to Utah from NYS. :(

Service manager said it would be, he only ting he said I would be responsible for would be the brake pads if they were worn- there's no way they are worn, I never use the brake except when parking. I'm glad it happened when it did, my warranty runs out May 9.

Service manager called today with the lowdown. The brake pads/disks whatever they are were toast. He said that they had gotten so hot that they turns blue. This had to be from being maladjusted, as I hardly ever use the brakes. It was probably dragging like a partially set parking brake the entire time. I have to pay for the new brakes, about 75 bucks. The labor will be warranted.

Now get this, he said that my front hubs were leaking. Kubota sent out a memo to their service departments to pull any front ends with leaking hubs and install a brand new one-the entire front axle!!

I guess they want the entire assembly returned to them so they can troubleshoot it while it's still intact. So I get a brand new front end, brakes, and new tach/hour meter for $75. Not bad.

Hmmm, what would have happened if those leaking hubs were discovered after May 9? Could that have caused other problems, and would any of it have then been covered after that date? Sounds like your brake problem might have been a blessing in disguise.

Yeah, I thinking the same thing. Any body know what Kubota chargesfor their extended warranty? I think I'm going to look into getting it.

I had the same problem on my bx. On hilly terrain the trans whine is high whether brakes are set or not as the load from going up the grade with loader and bh was so great. The transmission easily overpowers the brakes and except for whine you can't tell it set.

I still cannot accept that I had left brakes on but could not come up with explanation other than that as to why my brakes crapped out.

One thing to look out for is trans leak after they are all done. This is major surgery for the transaxle and it took repeated trips back to shop, getting regional rep involved and taking it at my expence to a Kubota shop with several 'certified'(regional reps label) mechanics to get leak fixed.

Kubota loses significant money on these repairs because there is not brake set warning or interlock to prevent motoring while break is still set.

To anyone particulary a bx with this type of expensive to replace brake pad setup. Don't move tractor till checking to make sure parking brake is full off. You can hear the increased whine if on the level.
