BX24/BX25 is the BX24 being fazed out

I'm purchasing my BX25 for 15,500. this includes the 3 point hitch. I was offered the 24 for appx. 1,000. less. The abrupt stop is a problem with the 24 but not with the 25 and it was a deal breaker for me. The 24 has the plastic hood and fenders where the 25 is metal. I'd take another look at the both, the abrupt stop may create an issue for you but if you can live with it, its mechanically the same tractor from my understanding. Good luck!!

i would take a little bit of an issue with the comparison of tractors to cars. when i was looking for used or slightly older model tractors, i was unable to find a deal that included depreciation anything like car.

when you drive a new car off the lot, you pretty much figure on 20-30% depreciation the first couple of months. case in point: my mom bought a 3 month old 2005 subaru outback 3.0 VDC for 23000. the car new was 32,000. that is a seriously good deal. a 5 year old tractor with low hours is gonna give up about 20% but that's after 5 YEARS of ownership, 5 years of projects completed, 5 years of payments over and done with, etc....

it's tough to buy a piece of equipment that holds its value as well as a tractor. don't be afraid of last year's model. if its 1,000 less and the reverse to neutral jerk isn't an issue for you, take the 24 and laugh all the way to the bank. plastic doesn't rust... ;-)

they are selling you the BX24 at dealer cost to unload it, your not going to beat that!

I think he was saying the 25 has metal body (fenders, hood, etc.). Plastic body of the 24 has its advantages and disadvantages. Plasting floorboard/cracking floorboard has been rectified or retrofitted with support if you were unlucky enough to get an early one.

Funny last Bx25 I say had a plastic hood. I have metal floors on my 24 and I would not buy a 25...For the price delta not needed.
