rdsaustintx- nope- its been repainted last fall. its worn away again.

montelatici- yeah - not only add the transporting time, but add the damage to lawn driving it over. The BX caused no damaged from point A to point B. Only damage was where I worked.;)

DiezNutz- no harm- no foul. no problem!

Shmudda- yup its a old mac. It sure is loud!! Got any tips for starting it? Only way I can get it started now is spray starting fluid in carb for first time that day. I tried taking carb apart to clean- primer doesnt seem to be working.

Thanks for your support guys- this is probably my 6th stump that is 2 ft wide or wider at base with BX. I dug out countless smaller ones- maple, poplar, walnuts, ash, brush. I doubt it's gonna be my last either, unless another tree falls on my lot. :)

Been there, done that and what an education it was. Mine was about that size and I did quite well curling the bucket and toothing roots to break them. Finally resorted to an axe on the stubborn few that remained...and getting it out of the hole was masterful!

BX2230 lockport- getting it out of hold is a challege for sure. I dug out a ramp to drive down in hole with to get mine out for one half. Other half I was able to lift with FEL over edge.

Fer sure. I kept curling the bucket under it and get it up a foot and it would fall over. after a dozen attempts I managed to lodge it against the dipper, put the boom in "float" and drive out! :cool2::cool2::cool2::cool2:

That's a pretty good size stump for a BX.
Let us know how it goes. Good Luck.

Its been sitting upside down ever since I dug it out in corner of my lot. I been scraping dirt off with ice scraper with free 10 mins of my time every now and then. Been letting mother nature clean rest. I was able to use battery reciprocating saw to cut roots off and burning it in my stove. I am thinkin gof putting the rest of stump in my burn pile this spring.
