BX25 and 60" belly mower

OK, another question.......how fast, at what RPM's should I be cutting at, what works best for everyone?

That should be in your Operator Manual. My 2660 shows PTO speed at a touch over 3000 RPM.

rated pto rpms is 3200 as per kubota. but then who really thinks its necessary? I dont run 3200 all the time for mowing. only for tall stuff for better cut, never really needed the power. I like 2800 on avg for mowing.

the other posts about not mowing with BH on cuz of kubota manual says so, but tell me- how many of you ACTUALLY followed the manual?! :laughing: I know I mowed with bh on with no ill effects. I just dont like it on so just take it off.

I have the 54" finishing mower, IIRC, they cost $1800. Somewhat negotiable.

Another benefit of 60" mower is you can add 2" wheel spacers for stability or tire chain clearance without having interference from MMM. I have a 54" finish mower that needed modifiation but well worth it. I run 2800 RPM when mowing and if it is tall I knock it down on high setting first. It just seems to run a little too hot for my liking at 3200rpm mower engaged in sumertime.
